Interesting point of view. I think Georgia Tech is the only P5 school using the triple option in this day and age. I've noticed the narrative from their fans last year was that it was genius that they were the only team doing it because it made them enigmatic. But I remember the narrative for when Ole Miss whooped them in the Music City Bowl was that it sucked, was outdated, and would never bring them sustained success. Paul Johnson desperately needed that 11–3 and to cap the season off with a win over an elite SEC team, because I read stingtalk occasionally, and they were pretty sick of him until then.
Georgia Tech is sub-par usually, and they're in a recruiting hotbed. I'm not sure Nebraska would even be a Bowl team most years if they ran the triple right now.

He could have seen him there last year. Snake frequented bars all over the coast until he passed.
I believe it was 2004 or 2005. The guy is a damn legend. I didn't realize that John Goodman sitting next to him until I walked up to the bar for a drink.

Who are these dynamic backs that the titles were built around?
Chris Rainey, Jeff Demps and Emmanuel Moody all averaged between 7 and 8 yards per carry and combined for 1,700 yards rushing. That isn't counting the 660 yards and 9+ YPC average Harvin had. Combined those four averaged 8.1 YPC, rushing for nearly 2,400 yards and 23 TDs combined.
Meanwhile Tebow averaged 3.8 yards per carry and scored 12 TDs, most of which were goal line dive plays.
Their 2008 defense was 4th in PPG allowed.

It was more to do with their unmatched (at the time) s&c program + getting athletes from FL than the system they ran.

Manziel is the best I have ever seen.
Better defense and he would have won a championship

Cam was appreciably better than Vince Young. Not even arguable.

The offense was not built around Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey. Tebow has more rushing attempts than those two combined. You also have to keep in mind we were demolishing opponents in the second half, I remember Demps and Rainey have some big runs late in games.
Tebow may not be everyone's favorite style of QB, but I think you are seriously undervaluing his importance to the team. You seem to be leaving him completely out of the equation.

Michael Vick is close but he wasn't the passer Manziel was.
The difference here is that where JFF would avoid the rush and pick up a dozen yards, Vick would crib it from the fifty without breaking a sweat. He was every bit as fast as Percy Harvin, and he had the ball every play.
I can't freaking stand Va. Tech, btw, but Michael Vick was an absolute joy to watch.

He brought a lot of value, just not as much as Cam brought to Auburn.

They all reeked at least as bad as my nuts do.
Harvin, otoh: that guy was goddamn breathtaking. It was like he was built with an extra gear.

He still had a better defense in 2012 than Cam had in 2010.

If he had a chest, Gunner Kiel would be the best QB in CFB history.
