Pretty surprising and even disappointing to hear so many of you Georgia baws shite on Richt.
Literally no one shite on him here. We were down on players because Richt was terrible at managing the roster.

. Dude had one losing season in 15 years, 10 of those 15 seasons with 10 or more wins, two 11 win seasons, one 12, and one 13 win season. Maybe he couldn’t win the big one, but he also coached through peak Saban. Maybe nobody’s favorite, but dogging a coach who wins like that is begging for some bad karma.
No one is dogging on him. He was a blessing to our program, doesn’t mean we can’t openly discuss his failures any less than we can discuss his successes.

I'd still rank Dabo ahead of Kirby. Dabo is just in the middle of a quarterback shite pickle right now, but he'll figure it out. Clemson won't be down for long imo.

Agree. I meant no disresoect to Kirby. He's upper crust as a coach for sure. But Dabo had a much tougher build and has had sustained success for quite a while now. I think there's a good chance Kirby gets that sustained success in time.

If you’re ok with going to the SEC Championship game every year in a weak division and losing the conference championship game by a average of 17 points in your own state, losing a national title on a 2nd and 26 and winning one national title in a rematch game against a freshman QB with no wide receivers you take Kirby Smart.

Maybe you forgot he gets the ACC

It was much more than peak saban.
Facts don’t lead to bad karma.

Kirby is an elite coach, but until he gets 2 natties, I have to give Dabo the second place, and put Kirby at 3rd.
That said, in 2022 I'd rather have Kirby as a coach than Dabo.

The better question is who is number 4.
1. Saban
2. Dabo
3. Smart
4. ?
1. Saban
2. Dabo
3. Smart
4. ?

Saban is obvious, but I'd put Dabo second for starting with comparatively nothing and making it to a shitload of playoffs and winning it all twice.
I would not. Because I'm watching Dabo - he's going the Bobby Knight route. Give it a couple more seasons, at most. Dabo has reached the end of his rope.
Saban - Smart - Ryan Day. I'd like to see Luke Fickell get a turn at a Power Five school, see what happens.

This is a great point.
It's hard to say since any active NC winning HC's besides them are past their prime (Mack Brown and Chizik are both at UNC doing okay, but definitely not the best right now).
Arguments can go for Ryan Day, Lincoln Riley, or maybe even a Brian Kelly/Harbaugh type of coach, thought those two would be harder to make a case for.

Dabo's preacher gimmick would wear thin in the SEC but the Newspring Church cult eats that shite up.

You need to make up your mind. Active IS 2022.

I'd rank Kirby ahead of Dabo because Dabo is dependent on QB play and when he (as you put it) is in a shite pickle, the team isn't that great.
Kirby has built a team that plays damn impressively with QB's who aren't future NFL stars. That shows that a coach has built a program rather than has ridden a great QB or two to success.
Give a coach a Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence, Jameis Winston, Cam Newton or Deshaun Watson and many coaches can win a title. Winning without a QB like that... you've probably built a pretty impressive program.

I think Kirby has a brighter future than Dabo moving forward.
Based on present accomplishments in 2022, Dabo has an edge with more natty wins.
In theory, I believe Kirby will eclipse Dabo, probably sometime soon.
But we'll have to see how it plays out.

He hasn't done shite to even be talked about as possible third best coach in the nation. Arky fans are so effin delusional it's hillarious.

In real english: "If you're okay with a coach building a program that wins a national title against Bama without an elite qb when Bama has a heisman winner at QB... you go with Smart."
The reality is Smart managed to build a program that won a national title without a future NFL Qb. Orgeron, Dabo, Fisher, Brown... all the other non-Saban active coaches with a national title rode a NFL QB to that title.
Smart didn't. He built the rest of the team to elite level. The last guy to do that was Saban... but he hasn't been in that business recently. He also is relying on elite QB's now.
