Sorts position coach goes to Ted Roof

I'd still give that designation to Tony Franklin. Ted Roof was frustrating, but Franklin was unbearable. I celebrated his firing like I won the lottery.

He took the solid program that Stallings left him and made it into a laughing stalk for the next ten years.

Actually he took over a program that was on probation. He recruited better than Stallings, but didn't have a power to wrestle with boosters. He won a conference title, so it's hard to label him "worst coach" ever.

I wish we would've kept Franklin for the entire year. Anything was better than the Nallsminger experiment.

He took a 10-3 team that returned quite a few of its starters and turned it into a 4-7 disaster. Had it not been for a lucky bounce of the ball in several games we would have had the exact same record the very next year. And Dubose would be the first to tell you that Shaun Alexander, Chris Samuels, and Cornelius Griffin were the people who led the '99 team to an SEC title. And, let's not forget, it was an SEC champion that lost to Louisiana Tech. Not only lost to them, but TRAILED to them for much of the game. And, let's be honest, Dubose had one good recruiting class.

He might not in his first year, but prepare you anus for years #2 and #3...

You have to wait until he 'coaches them up'...

He was still a coach that managed a SEC title. You have to have players to do that. I can't see him being labeled as "worst coach" for the product on the field. It's an entirely different argument for what happened after he was dismissed.

I still won't and don't give him credit for 1999. That season was a fluke and a half that had A LOT more to do with the desire from the senior players than the coaching from Dubose.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Hell, the majority of your fanbase was pissed. You hired a coach that was 5-19 for Christ's sake.
