FLASHBACK to 2009...

lawlzers, lol @ Aubarn, lololol, haha, etc

Aubarn hired Gene Cheezedick! He will be fired in 2-3 years. Aubarn = Ole Miss. Aubarn will soon be in mediocrity. Etc

His record without Cam is certainly stellar and making those folks look like fools.

Did I get that right?

I still won't and don't give him credit for 1999. That season was a fluke and a half that had A LOT more to do with the desire from the senior players than the coaching from Dubose.

doesnt matter what you will or will not give him credit for, the fact is a guy who at least has an SEC champiosnhip is better than a guy who won four games in three years.

The jury is still out on Chiznik, my friend. If goes 8-4 or 9-3, I'll at least put him on the same level as Tommy Tuberville. Until he wins the SEC championship again I and everyone else other than Auburn fans will regard Chizik as being nothing more than a man riding the success of Cam Newton.

And, as I have said before, Whitworth was not as bad as his record shows. His predecessor, Harold "Red" Drew, completely destroyed the football program with the 1953 and 1954 seasons and left the athletic department in complete and total chaos. Whitworth was not allowed to hire his own assistants and was therefore left with coaches from the Drew and Thomas years. Most of them were washed up old men who should have retired years before. Because of this, none of them were able to exercise any control over the players at practice and they would often become chaotic messes, with fights breaking out all the time. Like I said, Whitworth was not a good coach, but had he arrived under a different set of circumstances he wouldn't have done nearly as bad as he did.

Let's face it, nothing he (Chizik) does will EVER be good enough for Alabama fans. Nothing. He could win another National Championship and everyone would give props to Brian VanGorder and/or Scot Loeffler.

Well, we all know that's not happening.

It's tough to take you serious as being level-headed enough to come to a rational decision when you start with the "Chiznik" shite. And as far as the "without Cam" stuff goes, that's like saying I refuse to take Sean Payton seriously as a coach as long as Drew Brees is in New Orleans...it's retarded.

If he wins another national championship I'll be the first to say I was wrong. I'm just not convinced at the moment. Your team was young last year, yes, but after thirteen games you would think they'd show at least some kind of improvement. They remained static all year and that to me proves that they were poorly coached for the most part. It may have been Roof, it may have been a disinterested Malzahn, but all I know is that I watched an Auburn team fresh off a national championship lose 5 games and fail to show any improvement.

football: crowe. going 3-8 in the swc with a preseason top 15 team and losing to the citadel would both be enough by themselves. but doing both of those as the program was transitioning to the sec did damage that took 2 decades to undo.

basketball: duddy waller. lanny van eman might have had a worse record (barely) but he at least managed to leave decent talent on hand for sutton.

He's a national championship winning coach, nobody can take that away from him, however he hasn't been too consistent with out the best player most of us have ever seen, granted he's just goin into his 4th year, time will tell...

It may have been Roof

Part of it

1) Ted Roof
2) Young team
3) Bad recruiting classes in 2008 and 2009 (Chizik had to throw one together quick in 2009 after being hired)
4) Hardest schedule in college football

They looked much better towards the end of the year versus the beginning. The Virginia game was quite a surprise.
