Oof. Is it bad that I've already forgotten all about Matt Luke?

And that was only a year ago.

Terrible overall but won a SEC championship. Not Alabama's worst coach at all. That title belongs to this guy:

"Ears" Whitworth

Took a team one season removed from an SEC title to an 0-10 record. In 3 seasons, went 4-24-2 (3-11-1 in the SEC) at Alabama.

Guy named Bryant took over and won more games his first season than Whitworth won in his whole 3 seasons.

John L. Smith is 1-0 vs Auburn
Chad Morris was 0-for the SEC and usually lost to whatever Div II school we had lined up. Chaggy for the win.

One good season? The man was 40-9 at LSU prior to 2020.

Yet one playoff appearance, one national title, one sec title. Last year was a good year but overall lsu has underachieved and he’s made it an absolute dumpster fire over there. This is just one man’s opinion so it’s ok

It's "Ears" Whitworth as number 1 and no one else even approaches him. That man managed to almost go winless at Alabama over a three-year period. He had less wins at Alabama than Orgeron had at Ole Miss.

Interim year 6-2 won the Citrus Bowl

First year 9-4 lost the Citrus Bowl

Second year 10-3 won the Fiesta Bowl, finished #6

Third year 15-0 undefeated national championship

Four year 3-5 dumpster fire

I mean its been a bad year but damn, the man has been solid otherwise at LSU.

Now if it continues to spiral next year, then I'll be inclined to agree with you.

Look at San Jose State now! Just a year ago Arkansas got beat by San Jose State. This year San Jose State is 5-0!
Maybe the HC will be hired away to a Power of 5 school at the end of this year or next year.

As much as I hate this guy, he was 2-1 against Spurrier and won the SEC once.

We have had FAR worse coaches over the years. I think JB Whitworth is the worst at Bama easily, and probably among eht 5 worst in conference history.

Gene Chizik and Ed Orgeron won a National Titles. They don't belong on the list of "worst coaches ever"

Chizik's teams went 8-5, 14-0, 8-5, and 3-9. He had one season that was out of line with where Auburn typically is as a program. His other two seasons of 8-5 are not going to make the fans happy, but seasons resuling in an Outback Bowl and a Chick-fil-A bowl are not "terrible" relative to a typical Auburn season. That's right in line with the norm.

Ed O had done even better. His teams went 9-4, 10-3, 15-0, and now likely 4-6. Again, just one bad season that is worse than what's typical for LSU. In fact his first 3 seasons are on average far better than even "typical" for LSU. Judging by final ranking in the AP Poll, Ed O's first three seasons rank as the #1, #11, and #38 seasons in LSU's history since the AP originated in 1936... i.e., all better than average.

Curley Hallman and Ears Whitworth are probably your worst two ever.

Agreed. Anyone mentioning a coach with a national championship is missing a chromosome.

In a Miss America contest, if you have a chick with the face that resembles a chick's pussy after getting gang banged by a 1000 BBC's, that would equate to Chad Morris' coaching abilities.

So, my answer is Chad fricking shite bird Morris.

Joker Phillips - inherited a team from Rich Brooks on the rise and took them right to the bottom.

Charlie Bradshaw- worse than Joker. He ran off all but 30 players from the Blanton Collier era and started our losing tradition. He was a real SOB from what I've read. What he did to those boys made the Junction Boys look like they had it easy.

Chad Morris: Evidently Arkansas vastly underperformed under him. Different football team now.

Curley Hallman How do you go 16-28 at LSU? Ogeron did go 10-25 at Ole Miss but he has already beaten Hallman's record even if he goes 0-12 next season.
