Boomer Sooner is the worst, most repetitive, most obnoxious fight song in college football
That wasn't the question.

99% of the high schools in the country play:
1.Michigans' Hail to the Victors
2.Notre Dame's Victory March
or
3. On Wisconsin
So I'm betting 1 of those is the most iconic

Va Tech Hokies, best thing is their entrance to Sandman.
ND song was my high school's fight song after touchdowns. We were so bad, we usually only heard it at the beginning of the game.
USC song reminds you of the Roman Legions getting ready for war. It is a good one. Iconic
Michigan is a great one.
UGA
I am kind of partial to this one.

Ramblin Wreck is the best
They got the "wreck" part correct...a doofus song for a doofus school. Half their band is composed of 3rd-rate high schoolers.

The acc could easily allow gt to get back to prominence since
FSU
Miami
VT
Can’t get their shite together.

Why doesn't Florida's fight song get more love?
The basses take up the chorus halfway through. Sounds badass.

I read an article copied from a band directors asso mag that claimed Wisconsin had the most copied fight song in the US. "On Wisconsin!"
My old high school uses that one.

I like Yea Alabama. For obvious reasons.
But the correct answer is Michigan.
By a long way.

It’s hard to really say UM/ND/USC they are iconic and are the most traditional.
LSU TD song is no better than any of the others

I like Fight On and Rambling wreck as well. Not so much on the War Chant.
I will say... the best I’ve seen a band preform a TD, was the Kick 6. It’s on YT.
How they freaked out and kept their calm all at the same time was amazing.

All these votes for USC and not one mention of UCLA (although they do share it with Cal)? UCLA's fight song just screams college sports to me. Like a lead in theme to an old ABC college highlight show.
USC's is just repetitive and boring:
"This is...our only song;
We're gonna play....it all game long..."
Notre Dame and Michigan are probably more iconic, though. I prefer Notre Dame's.

There are a lot of good ones out there, but for me, The Victors (Michigan) is probably the best. What we think of as their fight song is actually just one part of a larger piece, that is in the traditional march structure, like a Souza march.

Not pimping my own school, my favorite SEC fight song is Bamas. Tennessee also has a very good fight song (Rocky Top is not their fight song).

Correct, while technically Rocky Top isn’t our official fight song, make no mistake it’s our fight song.

It's ND for most iconic.
Michigan might have the most ironic fight song, "Hail to the Victors" since they haven't won shite since Napoleon was a corporal*.
*No one outside Ann Arbor thinks they were anywhere near as deserving as Nebraska that year.

But, since it is simply new lyrics to the tune of “Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby,” I kind of feel like they cheated.

Agree with you that Hail State is very good and unique.
Penned by Mutt Peavey (father of Hartley Peavey, founder of Peavey Electronics) in 1939, it has a great tune and lyrics.
