I have lived in 4 SEC states: Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Georgia.

I would NEVER live in any SEC state except Louisiana.

If you are from California or New York, please do not move to Texas. We have enough.

Texas is like 5 states in one with Etx, Far West Tx, Panhandle, Hill country, Metro suburban living. Etx basically has the same feel as the rest of the south. Alabama and Georgia has some pretty cool places to live but dont see myself ever leaving Texas.

I’m a huge fan of the ouchita mountain area. I’d love to live on lake Hamilton or lake ouchita.

Hot springs is a fun little town to me. Not too big but a lot to do, great bars and restaurants, beautiful lakes and hiking, and the horse track and casino.

And they vote for the same left political ideas that made them leave in the first place! Stay out!

That scene from Bernie. I heart Richard Linklater movies.

I like Texas. West Texas has many, many great people. Salt of the earth types. But also, insane oil-rich rednecks and roughnecks.

I like everything south and west of Austin, including San Antonio. I've lived in DFW. Its ok, but just a gigantic, sprawling metro. Like Atlanta, minus the big trees and hills. You can sit in traffic and hate life in much more scenic places than Dallas.

No: Louisiana, Mississippi.

MS I get. There isn’t a really beautiful area of the state. There are nice areas to live, but don’t offer a lot. Alabama is the same way but has nice beaches.

Louisiana is an awesome state if you get past the corruption. I’d love to live in south Louisiana. Great hunting and fishing and great food. I love the culture there.

Would not move to central or north La though.

West-central Arkansas and SE Oklahoma are kind of unknown, but very scenic.

The areas around Mena and Waldron are some of the prettiest country in the state. The mountains are more like the Apps, and it's farm and ranch country in the valleys. Random google search image below.

"Downtown" Mena, Arkansas

Well, I've already lived in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, SC, and now Missouri so places I'd be fine with include:
-Ozarks of Missouri where I am now but definitely not the cities
-Texas
-Kentucky or Tennessee

Definitely would not:
-Florida
-Mississippi
-Louisiana

Move to:

1. Oklahoma (even though it shouldn't be SEC)
2. Upper Alabama
3. Middle Tennessee

Nope

1. Louisiana
2. Missouri (shouldn't be in the SEC)
3. Florida

I love OK. If it were not for family considerations, I'd move to Stillwater right now.

I had to put Mizzou on my list simply because the state shouldn't be an SEC option, but I do like the Springfield area.

Here's the deal...there are nice parts of every SEC state. Missouri is probably the one I would least like to move to...only because Texas isn't part of the SEC yet.

Many would say Oklahoma when they join, but I used to travel to Tulsa a lot for work, and freaking loved it.

Already live in Georgia and like... it most of the time. Lived in Florida from 83-92 and would never go back.
I'd move back to Misery, but only to KC.

No interest in moving to any other SEC states.

Considering this very question, pondering an early retirement as the mid-TN real estate market goes bonkers. Among several others outside the south, I've lived in AR, GA, TX and been in TN for several years.

TN & TX have no state income tax, so they're 1/2 as long as I have to work. South Carolina has always appealed to me, but more Greenville than Myrtle Beach. I'd move back to Arkansas, but only to NW area.

I hate flat topography, so that means MS, FL, & LA start at the bottom. Misery isn't flat, but it's a northern state anyway.
