Alabama: Obviously FOOTBALL, although their basketball program is solid and they're renovating their arena
Arkansas: Even though no one on their roster was alive the last time they were in the second week of the tournament, at least they have some decent history and their other program just lost to CSU, so definitely BASKETBALL
Auburn: This one was a toss-up but the more exciting coach and more memorable rant posters dictates BASKETBALL
Florida: The football program will probably also lose to CSU this weekend and their basketball program is Top 10 in the country over the past several decades so BASKETBALL
Georgia: Smart has their football program firing on all cylinders right now, and I bet most of their fans couldn't name their current basketball HC, so FOOTBALL
Kentucky: After the best win UK football has earned in the past half-century, this race might actually be pretty close, but, still, BASKETBALL
LSU: Ed O or Will Wade? BASKETBALL
Mississippi State: Howland has their basketball program looking up, but this fanbase has much higher expectations for their football program, convincing themselves that their first-time football HC is an obvious upgrade from their best HC ever, so FOOTBALL
Missouri: Neither program has shown the ability to be elite, so this decision is tough. That team with James Franklin (the QB) was pretty good, so I'll say FOOTBALL
Ole Miss: A 180 from their rival, they just fired their best basketball coach ever and settled on Brad Luke (I think that's his name?) for their football program, signaling a changing of fan expectations in favor of BASKETBALL
South Carolina: Definitely BASKETBALL. Can't imagine their football program ever reaching the heights of their basketball program in the playoff system.
Tennessee: Their BASKETBALL team might form a better offensive line than the one their football team has assembled.
Texas A&M: Like Georgia, their fanbase doesn't even realize that they have a basketball program. Unlike Georgia, it's not because they've sacrificed quality in basketball for quality in football. Still, FOOTBALL
Vanderbilt: Umm... CROQUET? GOLF? Not sure.
I count eight basketball schools to five football schools. Is basketball king in the SEC?

LSU could win 5 Nattys in a row in basketball and they would still get less attention than football

We’re an equestrian school

I'd say we're a baseball school - that can't catch game winning balls.

I think most SEC fans expect less out of their basketball teams, so they feel like they are doing better. For example, Auburn making a NY6 bowl game is a better season than getting bounced in the round of 32, but hardly anyone views it that way.

As far as which sport the fanbase cares more about?
Kentucky is basketball.
Not sure about MIzzoul.
Everyone else is football and it's not really close.

I think you'd hafta put state currently in this category, we should be top 15 in all 3 this year, we'll have been top 20 in all 3 preseason polls

One problem aTm doesn't have, if we're talking about catching balls with their chins.

I bet when you did this thread, you "thought" it would be a good idea. Sometimes we make mistakes in life. You will learn one day.
