Auburn (12)
8 SEC Championships. SIAA/Southern don't count and you only had 1 until 1983
Same goes for UT with with 13 SEC Championships.
The answer is UT BTW
UT

Tennessee is better historically over the long run. Last 20 years it’s been all AU.

Tennessee. Not even close. Anybody that says different is trolling or an idiot.

Tennessee is a better program historically.

Tennessee has now been irrelevant for 2 decades. I had no clue they had 6 national titles though. That’s surprising

I think it's fair at this point. Has Auburn ever been a doormat for 15 years the way Tennessee has been? They're close in every category

From 1933-1983, Auburn had but a single SEC title to their credit. Other than a handful of seasons during Shug Jordan's tenure, Auburn had been fairly lackluster since the 1920s. Pat Dye changed all that.

Auburn, just to piss off the vols

Auburn
Both teams have 2 national titles
If Tennessee has 6, then I’m Nick Saban

Welp, that settles it. We will now judge the entirety of history based on the life span of a late stage millennial.

Tennessee has always gotten to play the two worst SEC programs (UK and Vandy) every year. Auburn played UGA, UF, UT and Bama every year for a long time.

My only comment on this is historically Auburn has played a much tougher schedule than UT. Other than that I will let the non biased posters decide.

Which program is a better historically Auburn or Tennessee
It's the same way you could ask who the best program in SEC history as of 2007, and Alabama would still be that team.
Has LSU caught Tennessee overall yet? Probably not, and LSU is ahead of Auburn.

How the hell did PM not win the Heisman?
You see this a lot, just look at NBA MVP's.

All-time, it's Tennessee.
But outside of nice stretch in the 90s, Tennessee's glory days were all pre-integration. In the almost 50 years since the sport became fully integrated, Auburn has been the better program and it isn't terribly close.

Tennessee had the fourth best winning percentage in FBS from 1989-2001, though only two SEC titles and one NC
