There are a lot of marquee out of conference games August 30th. Which coaches need to win the most? Are any of the games must win games to save a coaches’ job or a team’s season?

Alabama vs. FSU
South Carolina vs Virginia Tech
Mississippi State vs. Southern Miss
Tennessee vs. Syracuse
LSU vs. Clemson
Auburn vs. Baylor
Texas vs. Ohio State

I think there is one must win game and two “you better win or else games”

Who do you think has the most to lose?.

Don’t forget Ole Miss vs Georgia State!

Rebels just can’t ever catch a break in Week 1, but props to them for always kicking the season off with a formidable foe.

Because of South Carolina's schedule I'd say that the opener is a must win for us.

LSU has the most to lose. If they drop another season opener…

Probably LSU. Big game Brian needs to win an opener for once.

LSU.

The outcome of the game likely doesn't matter too much for end of season ranking purposes, but it would be 6 opening game losses in a row and set the tone for the season.

Of course it's the hardest OOC game any contender has in the country this year, too Outside of maybe UT @ Ohio State.

Yes it does.

You’re not awarded for beating/playing ranked OOC teams, you’re only penalized if you lose.

Losing six straight season openers will cast a dark pall over the LSU football program...

FSU being competitive would be a moral victory after collapsing last year

Both LSU and Clemson need a win to get the internal critics to back off for a minute (the losing team's fans will melt). Although both teams would still control their playoff and conference outcomes.

Texas and Ohio State can both afford to lose but the trash talking from the winning fan base will be obnoxious and it seems likely to carry some weight as a tiebreaker for playoff participation or seeding

So IMO the biggest potential win would be FSU upsetting Alabama. That would restore FSU fans confidence and bring out pitchforks in Tuscaloosa.

If this game were at a neutral site against a team ranked 10-25, sure, your statement would have some credibility.

But… the game is at Clemson, who is going to be ranked somewhere between 3-6 in the preseason polls and favored to win. Clemson has 5 players projected to be 1st round NFL picks and a returning starting QB.

No one is “expecting” LSU to win this game. The only thing to make Kelly’s seat warm is to not make the playoffs.

I would agree with these two. BK supposedly got just what he wanted/needed in the portal. He's been here long enough. It's time show you can win this game or get on down the road and call it a day.

Holy hell, I agree with LSU fans for once. I don’t think Kelly will be fired immediately if LSU loses. But his arse will be on fire.

Both Alabama and Auburn’s games are also very important.

Alabama losing would be the biggest storyline - it just furthers the narrative that there will be a HC change in the next 24 months and increases the likelihood Alabama isn't a major factor for the second year in a row.

I think Auburn-Baylor may have the most direct impact on a program - I think AU losing makes it much harder for Freeze to retain his job. If I'm at 35% fired at the end of 2025 right now, I think losing that game takes it to 50-50.

You people are stupid.BK ain’t going anywhere Evan if he loses 4 games. Now if you want to donate the 60 mil to get rid of him maybe then your wish will come true. What don’t you understand about building a championship program. It took Jim Harbaugh 8 years ,Kirby 6 years to get their programs to that level and we’re in much better situations than BK .Why can’t you AHs just support the team and be positive for once and don’t let your hatred for the coach make yall miserable.

This is crazy internet talk IMO. There's zero reason for Bama to be thinking of parting ways already.
