Not only were they struggle wins. They were struggle wins against teams during the biggest downtime in SEC football. Auburn gave them a hell of a game with a freshman QB, Bama had half the defense and the QB on crutches for half of the season, Florida gave them a hell of a game with a backup QB, and Georgia was the most overrated team in the SEC (lost to SC in Athens). The only healthy team they played was Clemson, so hats off for beating them, but LSU was far from being the GOAT. Bring on the stupidass “melt” comments. Just stating facts.

1972 Miami Dolphins played no one.

They are very overrated as a pro team.

The 1948 Kentucky Wildcats not only won the NCAA tournament they won the Olympics. Gold Medal. World Champions. That is tough to top.

I would guess that winning the NCAA was a bigger deal at the time than winning the Olympic’s in terms of competition faced. But either way, a fine accomplishment.

Nope, he obviously improved greatly over the previous year.

Good for him. Thought it was somewhat fitting he won the Heisman over Tua since Tua was trying to win the damn thing and made boneheaded plays as a result, while Burrow stayed cool, took what the defense gave him and didn't play selfishly.

I plan to keep up with him and Tua at the next level to see how well they do to get an accurate guage at how much the current trend in QBs is them and how much is the systems. Especially Burrow considering the extremes of his 2 seasons.

I have to admit that your persistence with this stat is pretty impressive.

When you can score more points than anyone else and the point of the game is to outscore the other team, does it really matter?
