The SEC needed someone as bland as Kelly just to balance Leach out.

I’ve been watching leach closely…silently observing, and THAT is the top shelf version. Some of his other stuff was a little forced, but that one was genuine and well done. His best yet aside from this:

I thought he sounded exactly like John Madden. Leach will be awesome as a color analyst in the TV booth when he retires.

I was sad when Spurrier retired and Les Miles got canned because the characters are what make SEC football as much as anything for me. Mike Leach is a treasure. Hope the dude coaches in the league forever.

He actually worked for CBS briefly between his stints at Texas Tech and Washington State, and strangely enough he even did color commentary for an MSU game in 2010.
