will Demeco Ryans get an interview?

He’s a legit top 2 DC in NFL.
Knows the state and the program.

I assume he’s the next coach in Arizona or Las Vegas.

Ryans has a strong chance of getting an NFL head coaching job this offseason.

I still think Kiffin is the CIW... REC told him to turn down the Auburn offer.

I'm an Alabama fan primarily, and a bit of a college football fan in general, and haven't been a NFL fan in a long time, but I don't know why any coach would choose the rigors of college coaching to the NFL.

Saban will be the defacto AD if/when he retires as coach and will decide who the replacement will be.

I’m not at all convinced based on the way Kiffin left that Saban would sign off on him being the guy, nor am I convinced Dabo would leave Clemson where he has full control to come in under the shadow of Nick Saban as AD or shadow AD.

Dabo is also going to have to show he can adapt to the new NIL era which is about to hit in a week where programs are going to lose 15-25 players a year to the transfer portal and are in effect free agents playing on 1 year deals.

If you can’t or don’t want to embrace that chaos you aren’t going to win championships moving forward, especially in what is now going to be a prison yard of a division in the SECW and it’s the antithesis of what Dabo has been about so far.

Kiffin still has some growing up to do.

Dabo would keep the ball rolling.

Sark still needs some head coach experience.

No one can question his football knowledge.

I think he should get an NFL job right away.

I just wondered IF he would be considered as a possibility at Alabama.

I presume the school would probably at least ask if he was interested, but if he's an NFL HC at that stage it just seems terribly unlikely he'd leave it.

Saban’s ego is huge. He won’t admit it, but he will want his successor to fail to make him look irreplaceable.

Was Ray Perkins a HC when he went from the Giants to Alabama?

I doubt it. Would love to have him but he seems like he is going to be an NFL coach

He was; he had them in the playoffs in his third season but finished 4-5 when he left. Considering the records from his first two seasons, no idea if the Giants were going to keep him around or not.

The 1982 season was the strike shortened one. His departure led to Bill Parcels getting hired, and after that really rough inaugural season for Bill he went on a tear with the Giants (including 2 Super Bowl wins). So who knows, but clearly the Giants ended up better after Perkins left.

I don't think Perkins was a bad coach, but he wasn't really a championship caliber one either.

Interesting tidbit - the tie between Alabama and LSU in 1985 kept both teams from grabbing a share of the conference title (the winner would have finished 5-1 and tied with Tennessee - tie-breaker rules might have had Alabama, who lost to Tennessee, not receive a share, but LSU did not play Tennessee that year)
