You don’t think we put a large buyout last year when we had to do the same exact shite because of other vacancies?

You may have tried but I don’t think Kiffin would have agreed to a large buyout at Ole Miss….and let’s be real, he’s in the power position where the rebel black bears are concerned.

Also schools with coveted coaches that include buyouts don’t keep that to themselves, they put it out there what that buyout is. The fact OM never released that would be a concern to me if I was a OM fan.

You don’t think coaches tell the next school to pay their buyout? Lol

You should but it seems like you didn't. Also - why isn't his contract public does Mississippi not do FOIA requests?

What I read is $300k gets Kiffin into the top 10 which is only a small salary increase so what's the point of the new contract if not a stronger buyout?

Of course they do... having a small buyout allows Kiffin's agent to shop his name around more. If he has a $50mm buyout, many schools will look elsewhere.

kiffin would be better off staying at Ole Miss, IMO.

Your opinion sucks if this is honestly your opinion. Auburn is a much better job than ole miss will ever be. Thats not even a debate.

He should've stayed in boca raton and not went to one miss if his whole objective was to not further his career and one day reach a program where he could win a title. He can't do that at Ole miss. If he has any aspirations of winning even an sec title he must leave Ole miss bc it will never happen there.

And you don’t think large buyouts dissuade bigger programs from going after potential candidates?

Again, OM wasn’t and still isn’t in a position to make Kiffin handcuff himself like that financially to your program.

If Kiffin refused any large buyouts from OM what are they going to do? Tell him to go away? He’s the best coach you have had in decades

The reality is Kiffin has a low if nonexistent buyout because OM would be swinging that dick publicly right now if it was large.

Parts of his contract are public. Some parts aren’t. There’s not much of an interest in accountability from MS residents when it comes to the state institution’s potential of getting money as there is the institution’s potential of spending.

This would be more relevant to auburn fans than MS residents.

So his buyout part is private. Right. Got it.

That’s the one part you WANT to be public if the buyout is significant.

The buyout for us to fire the coach is relevant to us.

The buyout for him leaving is relevant to you. Go ahead and FIOA it then if you’re interested.

Oh shite, didn’t even think about this angle

The irony of all ironies. Kiffin leaves due to NIL and simultaneously deposits $20MM into our fund

Holy shite you are stupid.

If you read literally one article that came up from googling “Kiffin ole miss contract” you’d understand your stupidity.

How can you say that? He literally has had us very close two of the three years he has been here starting with year two and again this year in a complete rebuild at that. He is just getting started.

Except his buyout isn’t 20M. The only thing concrete I can find on his buyout is through an article relating to his 2021 extension and Admin at the school saying that it is “healthy”. For context Dabo Swinney’s buyout if he goes to another school is only 6M, which is what I suspect Lanes buyout to leave would be.

I guarantee you it isn’t 20M if he were to leave. That would be about a 69% (nice) buyout number based on his contract which would be very very unusual.
