I’ve love to kick their arse again. It’s been fairly obvious we’ve been the better team probably 8/9 years we’ve been in the SEC. we tried to make it work from the start. The weren’t willing. Both sides filled up their Ooc schedules. Any talk of renewing the game will cause major issues with other programs or not start until like 2033.

That's a good point. A&M is definitely too good for us. But teams like Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida and Georgia are all B programs that would be willing to accept home-and-homes with the lowly Horns.

Aggie poster asked why should they play Texas and help them with recruiting. Only way it's helping is if A&M loses.
Just to be clear, I'd pull for A&M. They're my second favorite college team behind the Cajuns, but I remember growing up waiting to see that annual A&M vs TX game and would like for that to continue. The hated rivalry within Texas for that game is good for Texas and college football.
All this bullshite from some teams who don't want to play another because they don't want to "help the opponent's recruiting" is exactly that, bullshite. Don't lose to them. Beat them, and you hurt it.

I figured minimum 10 year break to cycle through some of the admins and boosters from each school who were more interested in big dicking each other in the media than keeping the series or conference going.
It will never have the same significance again, but would allow students and younger alums to have an in-state roadtrip.

im not sure its bullshite. A&M is clearly selling recruits on a narrative that cant be combated by texas unless...texas beats them on the field. aggies just have too much to lose, too little to gain from playing texas.

This. aTm has bigger fish to fry now. It's in their best interest to book the prerequisite cupcakes for non-conference and focus on their SEC schedule. Winning in the SEC will get them places beating Texas never could.

Winning a national title this century? I'm pretty sure Texas has already done that. I'm not arguing that Texas's program is anywhere remotely close to that right now, but "never could" is probably a poor choice of words.
