The forward facing hog came out about the time Ark State rebranded itself and it looked like we were copying their wolf. Didn't help that they were going like 10-2 every year about that time while we were doing JL Smith and Bertball

That is the ONLY picture I know exists of that mascot. Jackie Sherrill introduced it when I was in school and it went into the bin the day after its introductory game.
