We, you got a frog in your pocket because you have absolutely no, NADA say in the matter whatsoever. I think you don't have a clue, and it would probably be best for you to continue your mealie mouthed BS behind the safety of your computer board before eventually winding up with much foot in arse.

That's the heart of the dispute currently.

Please show where LSU filed any lawsuit against the NCAA or SEC to dispute anything.

Wrong. Both the LSU President & AD voted in favor of the rule banning NBA, NFL, WNBA players from playing. The LSU President abstained from voting for adding amendments to punish institutions for doing so.

It's not that you're wrong about any detail.

However, if LSU is making it so clear to other SEC members and Sankey --even if behind close doors -- that they're totally on board with the other 15 schools on the new SEC "rules" and punishment schedules, why are so many other members and Sankey acting like they are trying to circumvent them?

How does that make sense?

Jealousy?

Fear of Kiffin?

All the basketball players Wade was still trying to get TRO's for?

issue...does a judge have jurisdiction to overrule NCAA regulations?

I don't know how a judge got involved. This is not a legal matter, it's an internal NCAA issue. There are no damages.

Do you believe that private organizations should be able to overrule the law?

The SEC had a plan with the NCAA passing the 5 For 5 rule this summer.

The court case with the football players was the flashpoint.

This is complete & utter bullshite. The NCAA left the legal loophole for the player's to be granted the TRO in their favor.

Sankey testified on the stand that he had not read nor did he fully understand the NCAA handbook on the 5 for 5 rule.

Now, if the judge finds the NCAA, SEC & LSU in contempt of court, all 3 parties will liable to fork out compensation to the players. It's amazing how some don't get this.

Unlikely LSU is found in contempt. They have a defense after being threatened with expulsion by the SEC.

We'd just sue the SEC anyway.

I still haven't seen any decent evidence that anyone besides Ole Miss and Tennessee were pushing this.

Hopefully this turns out to be the case.

He was told not to pursue these players. He did and got an injunction. A local judge upheld the injunction and the players are eligible. Even though LSU did not roster them they have never said they wouldn’t. The SEC wants a firm no, we will not roster former pros. LSU will not oblige, SEC still pissed. You can still go to jail for just planning a crime.

See, this is what ignorance looks like.

You won't get an answer & those saying it won't post anything to prove it outside of some ridiculous quotes from Finebaum. If so many members were so for it, they would have held a vote on expulsion yet they didn't. The SEC also won't have filed for an extension on their own federal lawsuit against LSU.

Part of it was just that. The other part was to create controversy in the media in hopes that the "outrage" would help to get the Protect College Sports Act bill passed.

What Sankey & the coward President's who backed him assumed that Louisiana & LSU would rollover & just take it for the better of collegiate athletics. That didn't happen.

They also didn't expect the blow back from politicians like Robert Kennedy & Mike Johnson when the threat of expulsion of LSU came up. Politicians who have pull to effect whether the bill gets passed or not. The SEC & school President's also didn't want to deal with potential Congressional hearings which would have lead to "dirty laundry" involving the conference as a whole & individual universities being aired out publicly.

Well this is just ignorant and easily remedied by doing some minimal research.

Here's our local judge who says differently

SEC also appealed and lost in an appellate court. Another good research project for you might be looking into how those work.

My guess is much of it is due to waiting for the NCAA to pass the 5 For 5 rule and knowing exactly that would end up worded before they did so.

Yet Sankey testified in court to not knowing the details of the 5 for 5 rule while on stand & just minutes after the SEC filed a federal lawsuit against LSU in Birmingham. (Sept. 3) His testimony came exactly a week AFTER the SEC voted on new rules banning NFL, NBA & WNBA players & rules for punishment for rostering such players. (Aug. 26)

So NO there was no waiting for the NCAA to pass the 5 for 5 rule & knowing exactly how it was worded because the conference commissioner didn't even bother to read up on the rule prior giving his own testimony in court.
