You could learn something by reading this book but you probably won't. In fact, you probably wouldn't even realize how it's relevant, but it is

Spot on and exactly how I felt for years, but that’s no longer the case for me. To me, the college game feels more corporate than ever before and I don’t care for the “playoff” system. College sports were more enjoyable before ESPN took over and diluted the sport.

Are they real Predator hockey fans, or fans of Stand With Us on Broadway and drink beer before the game?

Nashville has a really good fan base and has had one for years.

bullshite! I, and every boy I knew (and even some girls), grew up playing touch or tackle football outside..they even had flag football leagues all over. Where the hell did you grow up?

Prattville. I knew way more football fans that never played in any league than I knew people that did.

No doubt. The scenes in the streets before the Cup games last year were amazing. I'm just asking how many of those people are fans of "apples" and "trolley tracks" and anything else that Don Cherry says? And how many are just there for the party?

Very true, born and raised here, I can confirm

And also, bring on the bandwagoners. Who cares? Titans suck, Vols suck, Grizzlies suck, lets rally behind the one good team we have. Especially cause hockey is considered such a northern sport. It makes it more fun for everyone

It is a life distraction for most of the sidewalk fans (not an insult). They have been looked down the noses of so many people over history from other areas, that it has been the only way to rub those people's noses in it in retaliation. Even today, southerners have been labeled as a gun totting, bible thumping, incestuous population from the mainstream media (see Roy Moore).

The attacks between Fan bases within those states are an extension of the arrogance of that stereotyping. Those people want to be able to look down their noses of another part of society. It use to be the Black Community prior to the 60s-70s, now it is the other schools fan base.

I don't give a damn about Cherry and his dumb arse suits. I'm not even a complete Press fan (will always be a Wings fan, but I want the Press to continue to grow the game down here), but I've been to regular season and playoff games in Nashville and the fans have always been great.

Preds are top 10 in attendance in terms of % of total capacity. The playoffs were different animal but our fans show up for every game throughout the whole season.

Me personally, I grew up 30 mins away from Starkville. There is a bond or something. I don't have NFl team. I follow the Cowboys because of Dak. I refuse to watch the NBA and I lost interest of the MLB a few years back and I really don't know why.

That's awesome. And I like thet attitude about bandwagon fans. Bring 'em on. It's supposed to be about having a good time.

Hockey isn't as landlocked in the North as most think. They certainly dominate the sport, but there are enclaves growing around the country. I have a cousin who grew up in Dallas and made a U17 national team several years ago
