Change LSU and Alabama for now. Alabama has looked dominant but they just haven't played a team with a pulse yet. Their best win is a Texas A&M team that almost lost to Arkansas which is like playing it close to an FCS team (sorry Arkansas).

They won't play a ranked team until November. (Texas A&M will not end the year ranked.) LSU will have played three with all three teams ranked in the top 11. (Florida, Auburn, Texas.)

I think a team should earn #1, not just be given the title.

I think LSU should be #1 due to a couple nice wins, but saying we haven't played anyone with a pulse is a bit exaggerated.

We had almost 600 yards against South Carolina and won by 24 on the road in Columbia (and it was worse than that). South Carolina's defense hasn't given up more than 24 points in a game outside of us (20 @ Missouri, 20 @ Georgia, 24 (N) UNC, 7 vs Kentucky) - 47 points to us.

We blew out A&M in College Station - their worst loss so far was 24-10 on the road at Clemson. They lost to Auburn by 8. They lost to us by 19.

Surprised so few (if any?) are putting Wisconsin ahead of OSU at this point.

I'm not adamant about it, but two teams with similar records of dominance...Wisconsin arguably has the better win.

1.tOSU: high talent balanced in all 3 phases
2. Lsu: explosive O that is creating it's own balance with a legit run threat; good STs
3. Ou: incredible offense; showed the ability to limit a good Tx O... at least for a while
4. Bama: best WR corps in football with Tua developing as a great QB; OL and DL are coming along
5. Clemson: underperforming but lurking and improving
6. Wisky: puncher's chance, but wont survive B1g CG, and 2 rounds of playoffs. Easiest first round draw given their lack of offensive balance.
7.PSU: inconsistent but unbeaten
8. UGA: still have a huge talent advantage in the East; underachieving based on potential
9. UF: had been completely unimpressed with them earlier in the year, but they play like a different team with Trask. Tough road environment and Mullen's outcoaching himself kept the LSU game from going down to the wire.
10. Utah: hard nosed football team; will be a tough out for anyone... it was a coin toss between Utah and ND at 10.

1. Ohio State (best overall, haven’t played anyone)
2. Alabama (I’m an LSU fan and refuse to rank LSU over Alabama until we beat them)
3. LSU
4. Oklahoma (See Ohio state)
5. Clemson (Cause AAC, and LSU plays Alabama and one of them will lose, so win out and slide into the final 4.)
6. Wisconsin (that Defense...)

Seriously, everyone else’s would need some crazy LSU 2007 season finale.

1-5. Elite...so far

Alabama
LSU
OSO
OU
Wisconsin

6-7. Need to see more.

Clemons
Penn St

8-10. Good but limited by something. Capable of beating the above under the right circumstances.

Georgia
Auburn
Florida

I think Florida is playing above their heads right now. Georgia is playing below. Auburn has a TF qb that seems to have limits.
