I don't think that win was an upset. lol
Bowden was fired b/c of losses to Wake, Duke, etc...teams that many Clemson fans think Clemson should beat every year regardless if they are a decent team or not.

06 Auburn
We were TERRIBLE that year, wouldn't have made a bowl if we lost that game. Freshman Matt Stafford went on the road and blew out #4 Auburn. Definitely the most pleasantly surprised I've been as a fan of a game.

Easy one here - The "Pigs Will Fly" game in 1993 when pathetic Curly Hallman took a losing LSU team into Bryant-Denny and snapped Bama's 31-game unbeaten streak.

The biggest? Handing eventual national champion Notre Dame their only loss in 1977.

That was Bobo’s First game with play calling duties IIRC. Nobody was expecting Fatt Matt to pull it and run on those QB draws.

This is probably the answer for Alabama in the last 30 years. Granted that '93 Sugar Bowl was a big upset, I don't know if it compares to what happened in Neyland Stadium in October 1990. The Vols came into the game as the #3 team in America, Alabama limped into the game unranked and with a losing record to boot. Tennessee had just gotten through crushing Spurrier and the Gators - a team that beat Alabama in week two - by the score of 45-3. The Vols also had revenge on their minds as it had been four years since they had beaten the Tide. With all of these things going against Alabama, they still managed to pull out a 9-6 win at the buzzer.

They're hard to find. Seriously. This may not be the biggest, but it's up there.

Interesting tidbit...on both of Bama's two biggest game winning kicks ever, there were penalties that were called on Auburn and Tennessee that would have resulted in re-kicks had Tiffin and Doyle missed.

Not the biggest, but the 2016 Auburn game was fun as shite.

Finally, the most recent, and one of the biggest in terms of its significance, as well as the sheer magnitude of the arse whipping.

I don't think it's really up there. Alabama finished the season 11-1 that year and, arguably, should have been national champions. We were also #7 in the country going into that contest.

For us probably the 1978 Orange Bowl against Oklahoma, they were 18 point favorites BEFORE we suspended 3 players including our starting running backs that accounted for nearly 80% of our offense that year. After that we were pushed to 25+ point underdogs and OU was basically crowned national champion before the game was even played. We won 31-6.
The alternate is 1981 vs Texas. They were number 1 in the country and we weren’t ranked and had just lost to a bad TCU team for the first time in 23 years. We won 42-11 which still stands as the second largest margin of victory over a #1 team by an unranked team.
Oh, and frick Texas...I still hate them.

Mine will forever be when LSU beat #1 Florida in 1997. I thought we were going to get raped after beating Vandy the week before 10-9 or something like that on a blocked extra point at the end to win the game. On top of that we lost Cecil Collins to ACL injury with Kevin Faulk still not a 100% from his hamstring injury so I had no hope. It was a miracle and never thought I would ever see a lsu team make Steve spurrier in his prime throw his visor down and we beat the shite out of their quarterbacks. It was one of the greatest nights ever and I still watch it on YouTube during the summer. I was only to be disappointed to lose to ole miss the week after playing the 11:30 Jefferson pilot SEC game of the week lol.
