Who all is on the list? And who would

Double figure candidates from every sector of the profession. Most have HC experience, but those who do not are well known. I do not know who the favorite is, but Steele would be way down the list if it was left up to anyone with any sense. I will say I did not see Cristobal's name on the list, but that could mean he was already interviewed or talks are with his agent.

And they don't mean jack shite. Nobody had a fricking clue the last time around. Auburn officials are pretty tight-lipped about these kind of things.

No names, but you can go to one of AUs sites and look up an article of possible candidates. They are starting to release names thru the writers, but that is not a complete list.

Auburn works from the assumption anyone can win 8 games a year at Auburn and anyone can win SEC championships at Auburn. Auburn is in a constant search for someone who can win 9+ games and more SEC championships.

Auburn in the past has always gone with the middle of the road coach who they think can take a step up by coaching at Auburn. It usually doesn't end well after 5 years. This time they are actually branching out with their search.

I remember the 2016 LSU Auburn game. The whole narrative was that whichever team loses, that coach is gone. The time running out the way it did was so fitting for Les’ last game. It’s crazy that was 4 seasons ago and Gus just now got fired. Wild ride.

when your program has Auburn's expectations

See, the problem when you have Auburn expectations is that you're Auburn, with expectations.

All those millions could have been turned into awesome recruiting classes for years. Paying players trumps paying coaches.

Well the people who paid the buyout want Steele. The only thing that will stop them is a Tennessee like fan reaction to Schiano.

Then just hire Steele and see how it goes. Who knows...it might work out well for y’all. I personally think it’s too much to spend to get Steele, but it’s already been spent now.

I don’t have an agenda and they do not have someone outside the AD feeding them. That is the difference.

The fact that Auburn people are working outside the Athletic Department delegitimizes Allen Greene, Jay Gouge and the search committee they just appointed. Why would the PTB continue to leave out the AD and the President and work on their own when they'll have to obtain approval from the very people they are ostracizing?

Now think about the coaching decisions these same people have made for your football program in the past and ask yourself if they can be trusted?

Best team in 2017 when healthy at home.

Auburn fans expected at least 1 playoff appearance in the CFP era and it hasn't happened. Maybe that is unrealistic considering what Alabama and Georgia are right now, but it's the expectation nonetheless.
