Dylan Moses: 13-15 (depending on how this season goes)

Moses has been out several games before with a broken foot as well

Probably riding the ones left too hard. Moses probably got hurt by being the one the offense really focused everyone on with the others out and got hurt. But that's completely guessing.

It's fricking unbelievable how many injuries we've had at LB since 2016. We're also dangerously thin at the position, and it boggles my mind that guys like Justin Flow and Nakobe Dean don't want to come here when they'd easily start from day 1, as opposed to sitting on the bench for a year or two.

I get your point, but maybe they are thinking Alabama is doing SOMETHING thta is getting their LB's hurt. Drills, overworking...something.

I'm not saying it is justified...I am just saying things that might be going through their head.

Bama's players practices are harder than many actual games during the season. Many players current and former are on record making this statement. Hell, when a guy goes pro and he says the workouts and practices at the pro level are easier than what he had at Bama, that's saying something.

This really sucks for Dylan. I am friends with the family and he is really a good guy. Hope he has a full and speedy recovery.

The advances in conditioning and strength are so amazing that there is no longer any real need for proven and established starters to get all these physical practice reps. ESPECIALLY essential positions. Under LES it was a running nightmarish joke about who would get hurt in Summer doing contact drills. I think the art is finding the balance. Personally I like the idea of giving key players 2/3 days off and get them lifting, studying film, conditioning, healing, etc. There is nothing Duke will do on Saturday that was worth risking Moses in contact drills. Then again, a kid could easily blow an ACL running sprints or roughhousing with teammates.

Yeah, some of the Georgia players have said the same thing. (Guessing Kirby got it from Saban?) Practice can be tough, sometimes. Kids today don't necessarily want anything that is tough.

Now you know how the rest of the country feels when Bama beats a school out for a recruit. Sucks, doesn’t it?

Thank you for the detailed and scientific explanation.

Several years ago I asked an older wise friend of mine the question....when will Olympic records no longer be broken? (Track and Field speeds etc.)

How much faster can a human being run?

Maybe we are at that point now?

Seriously, I think many modern football players overtrain. Their bodies are toned and honed to the breaking point.

My muscles are so weak that they give out before any tendons or ligaments rupture. I’m just lucky that way. I don’t really train and I’ve managed to be the total package: small, but slow and weak to make up for my lack of size.

You are probably on to something there. It's like david Boston. He got so big on HGH that his knees couldn't support the weight when he make a cut

ACL injuries aren't always necessarily contact issues.
Most of the time it's cutting and planting on it.

Saban did this at LSU too. I don’t remember LSU having these issues

More easily.

"The vast majority (70-80%) of ACL tears happen without direct contact,"

I made this point earlier. John Hannah, perhaps the most feared OL in NFL history, was 50 pounds lighter than many OLs today. Imagine a 325 pound John Hannah pulling and coming around the end on a sweep with a full head of steam. People would die.

I woder if it’s the rubberized field, or some other unnatural surface that’s causing some of it.

I hate to see any athlete injured. Unfortunately injuries are part of sports and they can happen to anyone, at any time. It's the twist of fate.
Hopefully Moses makes a full recovery and pursue his dreams.

I don't think you can fault Saban although he screwed up twice while at LSU. In 2002 he left Matt Mauck in the game at QB too long when LSU had the Gator game comfortably in hand. It should have been mop up duty for the Marcus Randall.
Then in 2004 LSU's best playmaker, Skyler Green, and a had ankle sprain in the opener. Saban rushed him back to action too soon and he was really never the same player.
