Definitely been an unexpected last 2 weeks. It’s still July and Sark will stay on kids. On another note, Texas will still end with a better class than Oklahoma.
And Oklahoma will drag their nuts across their facemasks on the field like always.

Looking at OU’s team this year, Texas might be able to top 49-0.

I hope you believe that, but we both know you don't.

quote:Easy. Phil Knight’s dropping bags. We’ve lost three head to head battles with Oregon for instate talent. Sark may regret not matching their offers. Or, he may pick up some of the same kids for .50 on the dollar in the portal a year from now. Too early to know who’s right.
What the heck is going on with Texas' recruiting?

that per recruit average dropping like a rock
Keep clinging real tight to your 247 algorithm. Or, you could look at their list of offers. Spoiler alert. You might find Alabama on there. More good news expected at around 4:30 today.

I’m betting this will be a fun thread to bump around December.

If you really want to know, I’m happy to answer.
A lot of targets are announcing other schools. Pettijohn and Rogers will both announce elsewhere tomorrow.
Why aren’t the powers that be at Texas anxious about it?
Because they understand that the dynamics in recruiting have totally changed post NIL. July is too early to really be concerned- there is quiet confidence behind the scenes that many of the kids will circle back, especially after another season of play.
Stay tuned.

quote:so ironic. every alabama commit all we heard was quantity over quality, your per recruit average is low. and you guys cling to on3 cause thats the one that thinks your players are good.

Sark has actually shaded the NIL centric recruiting demographic lately in interviews. Which is a bit contradictory considering we went for it heavily the past few cycles. Now he’s in Dabo mode touting locker room culture over everything to protect his own roster. I think they did the right thing not matching Oregon on Moore. I’d rather keep a guy like Wingo on campus with Mizzou likely throwing the kitchen sink at him every offseason.

LSU flipped a DL from them today after poaching their DL coach. Got another commitment from a DL out of Texas yesterday that they wanted.
Missouri might be joining in the fun tomorrow too.

Phil Knight knows that in spite of being able to afford daily adrenochrome injections he still has more years behind him than ahead, and money isn't going to stand in the way of his beloved Ducks winning their first championship while he's still around to see it.
Also losing Bo Davis to LSU hurt us more than I thought it would. He isn't exactly the most aggressive recruiter, but he does have more skins on the wall than any other D-line coach.
In any case, still early July...long way to signing day 1.

Weird, all the other teams seem to understand that kids commit a lot earlier now

And then flip before signing day. Or transfer after 1 or 2 years anyway. Texas will be fine and will always have top 4 talent in the SEC.
