Played in a conference where you get a harder opponent than Louisville for your championship game. Played and beaten a team that would have actually made a 12 man playoff. Had a better SOS than 55. Have a better FPI tanking than 9.

Bama and FSU had no head to head play. They were both champions. The tie breaker becomes the SOS.

Look, FSU was in until Alabama played and beat Georgia in the best game of the Championships. Ok, getting closer but if FSU could even look presentable, they are in.
FSU proceeds to play the worst game seen in a long time against a bad opponent. It was atrociously bad.

If you look at the SOS of the 4 that made it and the FPI rankings it really favors the committee’s decision, and shows the 4 playoff teams with a lot of separation from FSU.
