I would have thought they were Laker fans.

If your wardrobe consists of almost only your favorite school's colors then we can't be friends because you are insane.

I have a degree from ULL and will pull for LSU everyday of the week. That being said I was raised an LSU fan and walked on the team my freshman and then transferred back home after my father passed for my mom. So I guess its not awful since I have some ties haha.

That's different and you've already stated why.

Let's say, however, that you hold degrees from Alabama and you actively root for Tennessee or Auburn.

I don't think anybody would call you a t-shirt fan if you attended the school.

Honestly the concept of such a transparent frontrunning fan rustles me way more than any single poster can. Too many of us suffer through the bad times with our team, the concept of a person who can jump from good time to good time cheapens the experience for everyone.

He did give me the idea for the thread though, so you are semi-correct.

Gump football and Blue hair Hillbilly basketball fans are worse than Yankees and Cowboys fans.

However, Gump football fans are just UK basketball fans wearing dark pink. They are the same people for the most part.

The only correct answer is the LSU sidewalk fan

I don't see it. The Bama/UK bball game threads get pretty nasty.

Eh, I don't know about that.

Gump sidewalk fans are pretty good fans. A lot of them will stick through the bad times and feel the pain of sanctions. Those people I have respect for.

It is the people who change shirts as soon as the top team changes that ruin what a fan is supposed to be.

Here in Memphis there's a new form of sidewalk fan developing ... There have always been terrible ones that pull for the Vols during football season the Memphis Tigers during basketball season... Now they are jumping on the Vandy baseball bandwagon as well.. 3 schools in 3 different sports all in the same state... Champ chasing pieces of shite.

When a true Memphis fan should always pull against the Vols and vise versa... And no one that actually attended school in Knoxville would ever pull for Vandy in anything.

For me, there are two types that alternately rustle and confuse the frick out of me.

1. The front-running resident who hops on a bandwagon and shite talks the home team (this may be a mostly Louisiana thing, before 2010 they were Florida fans, now they are Bama fans).

2. The passive-aggressive racist that due to some mental gymnastics can say/post the most ignorant shite but feels a massive sense of personal accomplishment when the team they root for (which has mostly black players) wins a football game. See the OT Lounge/Poli Talk boards for examples.

That is pretty bad. At least all those schools are in the same state so you can argue a state pride angle.

What makes the Bama+UK combo so bad is that there is almost no connection between them except they are SEC teams that win a lot. I feel like being such a fan (unless you went to undergrad at Bama and grad at UK or something like that) is basically saying to the world "Yes, I am a bandwagon piece of shite."

I mean a couple of years ago I would have been more offended by your three sport fan, but this forum has forced me to be more accepting of state pride sidewalkers.
