If he is let go then who do you get? He has had moments with Arky and if you let him go you better have Plan B in the bag. Ask Tenn. fans after letting Fulmer go. The grass is aways greener on the other side until you realize it is poison ivy and you have to mow it.

No way he gets to 9 wins much less 10. 3 easy non conference wins and maybe 3 Sec wins. SC is not gonna be a gimme win either so. You have to play defense in the SEC to compete so 6-6

Ole fricking Miss? If that's his highlight then I'm good with moving on. Besides the hardy har weight thing there's not any valid comparison between Fulmer at Tenn and Bert here.

I hope he turns it around and I don't expect to overtake Bama's throne however you folks and your doom and gloom of what our expectations should be can shove it right back up your asses as far as I'm concerned.

He keeps the food buffet industry going too well to get rid of him.... Just Arky giving back to the community by keeping him paid...

I personally see the Bret Bielema experiment a failure if he doesn't win 9 regular season games this year, but he keeps his job just making a bowl

Yea I feel like if he wins less than 8 he needs canned. But needing canned vs. Jeff Long actually doing it is a whole different story.

I think you are gonna be disappointed. I actually hope I am wrong because I like Bielema and have always liked Arkansas too. He is an elite coach imo, it's your recruiting base that sets him back. He has no choice but to find the diamonds in the rough and he has to be better at development than his peers. It's much harder to sustain a winning program at Arkansas than at basically every program in the West outside of the state of Mississippi.

Yes, I fear that I will be disappointed. But 9 wins is not an unreasonable expectation. You have to win the 6 games you have against teams not ranked in the top 61 of the coach's poll, and split the remaining 6 against stiff competition.

It's year 5. His development cycle is complete this year and if he can't do it now, he never will at Arkansas.

I think the guy is a great coach, but if he can't get to 9 this year, his system will not work here. It is what it is.

I thought Arkansas punched Florida in the mouth. Am I wrong with that?

I would go hard after Chad Morris.

Good call. BUT, going after is the scary part for them (or any program for that matter). If I were Arkansas I would show up to Peterson's home with a blank check and tell him to fill out the zeros after the comma. Chad would be a solid hire if it were a sure thing.

Or Chip Kelly. But it's doubtful Long would pull the trigger on another questionable character after Petrino.

Oh yeah, that wasn't very memorable to me. And we finished the season 7-6 so I'm still less than impressed and still think it's stupid to assume we shouldn't expect more than that- at least on the reg.

I was convinced Peterson was our next hire before the Bert bombshell dropped. Seems like if he was going to come to Arkansas, he would've done it then.

Oh God no

Mike Gundy is really all I got for a good replacement. That's J-Lo's job.

Agree. Most Hog fans like the way CBB has brought stability to the program and are giving him a chance have the team to become an annual contender.

The way the 2016 season ended created a lot of concern. This is his fifth year and it is time to see some results, if he can make it happen.

That said, I think the Hogs are going to be very good, this year.

I think he is happy at Washington, BUT I would make him tell me no, on his door steps of his home, after he removed the blank check from his pocket that I forcefully put in there.

6-7 wins is very plausible, even if they arent that great. His job will be okay this year but might on the chopping block next year

Me too. I truly believe they can win 10 this year.
But I also can't deny that Coach B has a history of dropping inexplicable games. Toledo, Texas Tech, Rutgers twice, etc.

He should be able to win a lot of games this year. But he may have a couple head scratchers. He can't have any head scratchers this year IMO. He needs to win 9.

and go through another painful offensive transition? No thanks.

We have a better chance of going 9-3/10-2 this year than missing a bowl game imo. Bert has the overall talent on the team better than it ever has been since they started doing rankings. People might bring up last year in response to that but I think last year's failures were due to some specific circumstances (some defensive veterans giving up, as well as OL problems due to Froholdt playing the position for the first time and still sorting out the starters throughout the season were the two main ones imo). Also, last year's team was two huge blown leads away from 9-4. The defense is still a big question mark, but he hired a proven DC, and like I said there's more talent back there overall than we've had in a while, especially at DL and DB. OLB talent is sketchy though. As for the offense we easily have the talent and coaching to have a top 3 offense in the league.

tl;dr people jerking off to him getting fired are going to be disappointed
