We will not hear "we are back" not a chance.

We lost our best player for a month and we have shown for a month our O is below average.

It would take winning 5 in a row to hear that

Actually, thinking more about this, Ole Miss does not have a great defense (albeit better recently).

he had that same chance against Florida last Saturday.

UT Head Coaches
Fred Akers.............86–41–2... .667 win %
David McWilliams..31–26–0... .544 win %
John Mackovic.......41–28–2... .577 win %
Mack Brown..........158–48–0.. .767 win % 2005 National Champion - run off by fans and alums
Charles Strong.......16–21–0... losing record - First African American head coach at UT
Tom Herman..........32–18–0.. .640 win % and 4–0 in bowl games
Steve Sarkisian.....48–20–0 (as of 2026) .705 win % - 2nd best win % in 50 years

You ran the only non-fraud since Darrell Royal off for not winning enough. Even though he was the winningest coach in the last 50 years.

Now Sark is .705%, best since Mack. Why do you expect anything different?

Maybe it's not the coaches

What a stupid fricking question. What should we expect? The same thing every fan expects of every team in the SEC. To win a lot of games and compete for a conference title.
What we've actually done doesn't matter. it never has. We want to win. We want to hire coaches that aren't complete shite. We have sucked at this since Mack left.
but we're not going to stop trying or wanting our admin to try. I'm not sure what you expect. The Ags haven't won a title in longer than I've been alive...but it doesn't stop them from trying. Why should it? it's called being a fan.

It won't happen unless the score is really bad at the half. Sark still thinks Arch is the best QB and best chance to win..I think it would have to be a blowout by the half for him to change QBs. Then we'd probably still get Arch as the starter in the following game.

Unless we can bring in a portal QB this week, who has been coached up by someone else, the results will be the same. An offense that can't move the ball.

Bingo, I think the only thing Texas needs is an OC/ QB coach to drill Sark's offense into their head as well as the other players on offense. Teach them the offense inside and out. It's obvious Sark doesn't have the time or take the time to do it, and they regress every year. He also needs a qualified OC to tell him what is and isn't working and to bounce ideals off of, and to be the eyes in the booth. But Sark's ego won't allow him to admit defeat and hire an Offensive Coordinator like that.

Arch just doesn't make decisions quickly enough and therefore holds the ball too long. And after that, bad things happen. Quarterbacks can have all the physical tools in the world, but if they don't have the mental part down, they are going to fail.

If the pattern holds Arch goes 7-9 while he’s in Sark’s script and Texas establishes a two score lead. Then Sark never again runs the plays that worked from the script, the offense stalls, Sark makes a bonehead game management decision and gives Ole Miss momentum going into the half. After a third quarter 3 and out fest, the Texas defense is completely worn out and Ole Miss runs away with it in the fourth.
From the few games I've seen I don't think that Sark "abandon's the script that was working".

To me, it looks like Sark's script to start the game works well, but then teams start to catch on to the offensive keys around the middle of the second quarter and make good adjustments.

Sark's in-game offensive adjustments for the opposing team's defensive adjustments just don't seem to work very well, and Arch isn't good enough to make lemonade out of lemons in those situations.

What was working stops working, the UT defense ends up on the field more and - as you said - eventually gets worn out because the playcalling and QB skills just aren't there to maintain drives and score points (and give your defense a rest).

If your OC/coach could make decent in-game adjustments for the offense, or if your QB was good enough to actually put the team on his back when needed then I think you'd be a much happier fan.

Not a pro evaluation by any means, just my view based on the games I've watched.

Ole Miss is going to score early and put the pressure on. I’m saying they make the switch late in the second quarter when it is 17-3.

Scoring early hasn't been an issue for Texas. They scored on the first drive against Tenn, OU and Florida. It's the second quarter and beyond where the offense seems to stop working.

If it happens it will be in the second half, but I doubt it will be needed this week.

Simmons is the best "pisser" Texas has. Do they have a "pisser's chance" to beat the RebelBlackBearLandSharks?

Could have fooled me. Seems like you're more of a hater than a fan. I though a fan supported the team and coaches. At least during the season anyway?

But more to the point - you can want all the day long, but the fact is every new football genius you guys bring in fails. Why is that?

Meanwhile - seemingly any mediocre coach can drop in at LSU and win a title.
