What power 5 school(s) are headed towards a "demotion" in the next 2-3 years?

I could see someone like Wake Forest in the AAC and Washington State and Iowa State in the WAC.

Texas Tech and Baylor don't have Bob and Annie to cover their asses this time.

Welcome to the mid-majors, folks.

It wouldn't surprise me that based upon Vanderbilt's de-emphasis in athletics the past few years that they attempt a jump to the Ivy League.

Sorry. I forget that history is not as well known here.

When A&M and Texas were leaving the SWC for the Big 8/12, Bob Bullock (Tech undergrad and Baylor law) was Lt. Governor, and Ann Richards (Baylor grad) was Governor.

They threatened all kinds of budget repercussions if Baylor and Tech didn't go with A&M and Texas. Hence, they got to gravy-train for a few more years.

Vanderbilt’s status as a private school protects the entire conference to a degree. Their recent baseball National championships and academics protect them, and rightfully so. They are a great asset to this conference.

Washington State and Oregon State are pretty much completely reliant on their in-state rivals not leaving the PAC-12. Talk about a punch to the gut

All the ones in places that don’t give a shite about college football. Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, West Coast. All the places where people think colleges should be for education and not hosting minor-league sports teams.

The one school I feel really bad for is Stanford. I'm sure they've done some stuff over the years that weren't perfect. But by and large they do things right. Very competitive football most year, excellent baseball history and program and traditionally above average basketball.

But they are about to be homeless. Feel bad for them.

Stanford will not go homeless. With the amount of money they have and a combination of all their athletics, they will be welcomed by many conferences of the Power 4

I would take Stanford tomorrow if they wanted to join the SEC. Since regionality is becoming a thing of the past, why not? Across all sports the are one of the winningest Athletic Departments in the country on top of being a great academic school.

Zero chance the Ivy League would take them. Stanford would have a better chance but still unlikely.

Vandy is not going anywhere. None of the pre-92 teams are touchable in the SEC. It is the last Conference that respects tradition.

While I disagree about the LSU move, I’m glad to see you give Monroe a little respect.
