I like that song because of one memory. We were playing at Alabama, and my roommate at Ole Miss has a brother who was a Pike at Bama. We partied at the Pike house in Tuscaloosa the Friday night before the game, and I grabbed the Aux cord set up to the speakers in the Bama Pike House, and blasted this song. All the Bama peeps were laughin, the girls were dancin, and everyone was havin a good time. I’ll always appreciate this song because of that.

Loved this song when it came out. But Buddy Jewel actually did a number a different versions for local radio stations. I’ve heard it in Atlanta and Nashville , as Go Dawgs Go and Go Vols Go, respectively.

Never released actual recordings for sale.

They got a name for the winners in the world, I want a name when I lose. They call Alabama the Crimson Tide, call me Deacon Blues.

What I love is all of the northerners who come to Alabama now and think they know jack shite about the culture and region outside of Campus . It's amusing.

Southern Voice- Tim McGraw.

"Bear Bryant won it."

"In this Crimson Tide t-shirt."

Even better since Tim is an LSU fan. The video where he mentions Bama is pretty funny.

I haven't read all the way through, but has anyone mentioned the yacht rock classic, "Moonlight Feels Right" by Starbuck?

quote:

You say you came to Baltimore from Ole Miss
Class of seven-four, gold ring
The eastern moon looks ready for a wet kiss
To make the tide rise again

I guess you could make a case for Alabama too

Carrie Underwood's The Night Before.

Not one of her more popular songs but when I attempted to do the long distance relationship thing freshmen year when I went away to LSU my girlfriend definitely made sure I knew about this song .
