The CBS Broadcast can have some of the best intros for a game though.

Both are complete idiots. But more than that, they're just awful at calling a football game.
After having to sit through their shitshow on saturday afternoons and then hearing good PBP teams with guys like Brad Nessler, Mike Patrick, Herby, etc it makes you realize how awful they are.
I wish CBS would get my boy Ronny Franklin for SEC games

My favorite Verne moment:

This is after Childs catches the ball and runs something like 40 yards.

Gus Johnson. The ONE thing I miss from Fox calling the games. He is the most fun caller in the business.

The only Sports Broadcaster I think of as smug is Bob Costa. No one reaches his level of condescension

I've always thought it was the best broadcast as far as production value. Verne is ok, GD as well.
However, after actually having watched a game meaningful to me, I agree about the commercials. Too much like an NFL game. I will be DVR'ing the MIZ/BAMA game and tune in about 15-30 mins. Late so I can skip a lot of the commercial breaks.
I'd hate to actually be in attendance. This is usually the sole reason I stay home and watch Charger games on TV. The TV timeouts kill the flow.

I personally love the CBS crew of Verne and Gary.
Verne is like a drunk old uncle that means no harm to anyone, and says funny shite constantly.
Gary D. is a self-important asshat that puts a negative spin on every observation he makes. But once you know that about him and actually listen to what he says, he knows football and how to break down plays. He is the best at spotting breakdowns in play on the field.

I just wish the CBS game was a night game. There should be a slow buildup to the biggest game of the day. Too bad that will probably never happen with how much ESPN has invested in the SEC.
I also wish Gus Johnson was calling SEC games. That guy is great. A combo of him and Herbie would be excellent.
While the production has been the best hands down in the past, they are going to have to up their game to stave off FOX and to some degree ABC/ESPN in that department.

Just think of Verne at a bar having a drink and this hot chick walks by and Verne says::;"how do you do".Then falls outa his seat.
Now that would be classic Vern.

I really think Verne is going to have a massive heart attack while screaming "My Goodness!"

Too many American flags in my opinion. Seems forced.
Almost like they're embarrassed that the South runs college football, so they drape American flags all over every SEC team in their intro hype video......so that the rest of the country doesn't feel left out and get their feelings hurt.

It is mind-numbing at times. The lenght of the commercials literally suck the life out of fans. What's worse is the teams are still required to use a one minute timeout so the offenses and defenses are just standing on the field for what seems an eternity while awaiting the commercials to end.

They broadcast in 1080i. I prefer Fox's 720p as that is better for motion.
