2013 OU 33 - OSU 24

What made it memorable was I watched it from a hospital bed while waiting to go into surgery and I thought I was going to miss the second half but someone came in needing an emergency appendectomy and bumped me back long enough to finish seeing it through to the ending which was great.

State (10-1) was favored over the Sooners (9-2). The game went back and forth until state retook the lead with 2:41 to go. OU's first and second string QB's Trevor Knight and Kendall Thompson both had to come out leaving Oklahoma to fall back on Blake Bell. Bell had started 8 games but switched to tight end when Knight was named the starter. Bell led the Sooners downfield for the go-ahead TD with 19 seconds remaining. OU would score again on a fumble return to end the game.

2013 OU 33 - OSU 24

While OU fans argue about this being a real rivalry... there have been some great moments in so called "Bedlam"....

My favorite still is 1977... because of something I've never seen before or since in a football game.

OSU had beaten OU the year before for the first time in ten years... The '77 game was in Stillwater and the fans were jacked.

OSU got out ahead but OU came storming back and got control of the game.

After an OU touchdown... OU was getting ready to kick off. OU kicker Uwe Von Schamman placed the ball on the tee and started to walk back to kick off.

All of the sudden he looks up as he is walking back to kick the ball... and then says something to the official standing there.

Turns out that the two OSU kick returners had lined up on the wrong end of the field (behind the OU kicking team). a couple of seconds went by and everybody in the stadium realized this but the two kick returners...

Finally, the ref got their attention and they had to jog the length of the field while the OSU crowd chuckled in embarrassment.

It was the funniest thing I've ever seen in a game in terms of pure dumbassery.

2008 (upset) or 2022 (49-0) were the best I felt.

We lost ours long ago when the annual NU-OU Thanksgiving holiday conference finale was killed off by expansion to the original Big XII.

Those were some great games / great memories though and at least they can’t take the memories away.

Those were some great games. Here’s from 49 years ago.

Those were almost always some epic games, win or lose.

The atmosphere around Lincoln, Omaha and the entire state of Nebraska would have an electricity and “buzz” you could literally feel the week of “Oklahoma”.

Good old days.

Glad I got to live ‘em and genuinely hope younger gens of Husker fans will be able to hopefully experience something similar someday.

It’s just fun.

There are so many. But on a pure emotional level it was beating tx 55-48 in 2021.

Tx got up 28-7 and their fans were so juiced up and assumed game was over. Spencer Rattler was OU QB. He got benched in 2nd qtr for Caleb Williams.

Tx first play was a bubble screen that went for 75 yard TD 7-0. OU next possession was a punt that got blocked for a TD its 14-0 six plays onto the game.

After a Rattler fumble was taken for a touchdown to create a 35-17 deficit, Lincoln Riley listened to chants from the stands and inserted Williams, the true freshman No. 1 quarterback in the Class of 2021. The Sooners went on to score on six of their next seven drives, posting 25 straight points in fewer than 11 minutes of game time and are up 42-35.

Xavier Worthy caught a long touchdown with fewer than two minutes remaining to tie things up at 48 all.

Then Brooks called game

This game had it all and fans from both sides were spent afterwards but OU took the Golden Hat home and fans got to celebrate the amazing win.

But there are so many more great moments besides this game.

Unpopular Auburn opinion. The Camback was much more fun than the Kick Six. Bama fans could say nothing while everyone was walking down the upper deck ramp.

You must be young. I was but a baby freshman with 63-14 and I still count the Roy Williams Superman'ed Chris Simms memory has horrific.

I went 0-4 as a student. Those were dark days. Dark days that only served to cultivate in me a simmering, unforgettable and unmitigating dislike for OU that few even among the hallowed halls of the 40 acres would understand.

OU fans think hating Texas is their ally?

You guys merely adopted the hate. I was born into it. Molded by it. I didn't see victory until I was a professional adult, by then it was nothing to me but blinding.

I was sitting in that endzone with the two state kick returners right in front of us and they looked at each other realizing what they had done before starting the long jog to the other end of the field.

Prior to that game Switzer was asked how many yards he thought Terry Miller (OSU RB they were touting as a Heiman candidate) would get and his reply was "about the length of his dick."
