Jimbo's biggest upset is when he took an unranked A&M team and put up 74 points on the #8 team in the nation.

Not the biggest upset win but finally beating Michigan in the Peach Bowl after being 0-3 with them was gratifying

Largest underdog spreads Lane Kiffin has overcome as HC of Ole Miss
Indiana (01/02/2021, Outback Bowl) - +8.0 (W, 26 - 20)
Kentucky (10/03/2020) - +7.0 (W, 42-41)

I would say that's probably true.

Can't really recall any Jimbo team at either A&M or FSU punching above its class other than that game.

Georgia 2015, "The Hurricane Game."

BAMA made their way back to Athens for the first time since "The Blackout Game" as underdogs. The only game as an underdog since Florida 2009.

Needless to say, it was a jolly good show, both times.

Not sure this is the best thread for Bama fans. When was the last time Saban was an underdog in a game?

I believe it was 2015 on the road at Georgia.

Bama won 38-10 and was up 24-3 at the half. I remember it was very rainy. Of note, both Derrick Henry and Nick Chubb went for 140+ on the ground. Georgia threw three interceptions.

I believe the answer to this is the 2009 SECCG. I know a lot of people think it was 2015 Georgia, but I distinctly remember a lot of sharp money coming in on Alabama the day of that game to the point where the line was Alabama -1 at kickoff in at least some books.

Mike Leach has so many it's hard to choose from

I'd think it was that time Texas Tech beat Colt McCoy and the boys with the last second pass to Crabtree.

Since O lost to everyone at Ole Miss, I'd probably say #2 UGA in 2018.

He also beat #5 8-1 Stanford as interim at USC when USC was unranked. At LSU, yeah it's either 2018 UGA or 2017 Auburn. Both those games had LSU as about 7 point underdogs. Last year's Florida game was also a huge upset. Florida was a 23 point favorite

last year at Florida was Coach O’s biggest upset win.
Florida was -23 in that game

Probably one of the biggest (spread wise) in LSU history.

When thinking of Leach, I think of this vs. Texas

Washington beating USCw in 2009. Trojans were No. 3 and had just beat Ohio State in Columbus the week before. Washington hadn’t won against a power 5 school (then “BCS school”) in almost 700 days

Pittman beating Leach was big at the time but his win over Aubie is probably his biggest so far.

Tech was at least a pretty good team then and I think the spread was less than 3. The other time leach beat us, in 2002, was with Kliff Kingsbury and Wes Welker, and Kliff threw 6 touchdown passes. Great game, hell of an upset, but a shitty 10th birthday for me

Look - I'm talking Kentucky. We all know - it's Kentucky. We (I hate we, I never played) are a poor. Probably should be relegated to Division Whatever Ain't the SEC in a few years. But all the same.

Lamar Jackson fumbling that ball off his wrist (wrist, really) and Kentucky kicking that field goal to win changed things for the program. Before that, Johnson getting loose and beating the 'Ville. No disrespect to the SEC - none at all - but those two wins changed the arc of Kentucky Football.

I'll go with Auburn last year since it was Pittman's 1st year as a head corch.

Arkansas fans trying to troll but not realizing how sad it is that your coaches biggest wins is in the record books as a loss
