I do have to give it to them. I thought for sure UF would have a 4th straight losing season with that schedule last year then an upset over LSU put them back on the map. Another 8 win season for them and we’ll be hearing Florida is back

Y'all spend significantly more on football than we do.

Lagway may end up being Napier's Sam Darnold but he still should've been fired last year.

Based on the fact that the vast majority of their top recruits from 2020-2023 transferred it seems that A&M wouldn’t spend as much as some other teams would for those same recruits.

Jimbo’s $75 million dollar buy out got most of the press, as it should have. But Auburn had two buyouts during that period that totaled over $36 million dollars.

I am an all sports guy, and even I will admit that football is bigger than all the other sports put together. Also, we have fallen off a little bit in some of the other sports that we used to consistently be top 10 or top 5 in the country. Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis, just to name a few.

We also haven't won the SEC All-Sports Trophy since 2018 after winning it 12 years in a row, and finished 4th this year, which is tied for our worst finish ever.

So we are running on reputation more than anything right now, and that needs to change.

I like what Stricklin is doing with the facilities, as Foley was notoriously cheap, but he just doesn't have the competitive fire that Foley had to win, and hold the coaches to a standard of winning.

According to the chart on the previous page, between 2020-2024 Auburn spent more on football than TAM or Florida. Auburn spent $281 million while TAM and Florida spent $265 million and $221 million. Auburn spent more and got much, much less in return. But you guys did have to pay three coaches.

Tennessee spent slightly more, $283 million, but they have a NY6 bowl win and playoff appearance to show for it.

Auburn spent over $10 million dollars per win.

Auburn had the worst return on investment of any program and it isn’t that close.

Yeah the spending isn't even close.

Your AD has been hyper successful for years and I wouldn't change a damned thing. There is growing fanfare into the other sports thanks to easier access into viewing and Florida is positioned well in all sports.

Football can get better of course but if yall are bringing in Jac Caglione and Todd Golden does it really matter if yall will only win 9 football games? Lot of schools not listed among the "mismanaged" should easily be listed here instead. Mississippi State has fallen hard since they were once ranked number 2. Coach Leach's death bit them in the arse but it's not like they were winning 10 games a year even then. And then they turn around and fire the next guy within a year. They are destined to flounder now.

Florida. Everyone in the athletic department would have been fired years ago if we had competent leadership

I mean, it has to be Texas A&M. No one does less with more.

TAMU given the money spent on NIL and buyouts has to be the worst ROI.

To be fair, we actually cut bait w/Jimbo instead of trying to push through via sunk cost fallacy delusion. Even though it was insanely expensive that's an example of good management. A lot of schools would have tried to ride it out and risked killing the program.

It surprises no one here that you picked Mississippi State.

Between 2014 and 2022 (Leach’s death), Mississippi State lost 48 games. They had three 9 win seasons and one 10 win season. They were ranked #1 in the BCS for a week.

During that same time frame Auburn also lost 48 games. They had one 9 win season and one 10 win season.

Auburn was very comparable to Mississippi State during that time. Mississippi State has a very good excuse for their recent struggles, the unexpected death of their coach who had the program trending up.

Auburn can just blame themselves.

There are serious issues at Auburn. Every big donor there thinks he is the chief. Alabama, SMU and Texas fans can tell you what happens when boosters run the football program.

IF Saban had been at Florida, he might have won 10 NCs.

Saban got all the players he wanted from the state of Florida anyway.

I love those arbitrary timeframes. Why didn't you include 2013? And why stop at 2022?

They have hired and fired a coach since then. They will either get right or flounder.

Yet Auburn still makes you deranged. I'm good with that.

Taken as a whole, the NIL investment and the buyout for Jimbo(et al) the ROI is still the worst in the league. 8-5 last year with similar expectations this year? Buying Jimbo out was a function of paying for a mistake in management more so than a sign of great management

You are fine with Auburn continuing to be a dumpster fire just as long as it bothers a random Alabama fan on the internet?

You would fit right in at Auburn’s athletic department.

Historically speaking it would be MIZZOU hands down.

Mizzou is the only true P5 school in the state with no serious competition for instate talent and they have yet to win a national championship in football.

We'll see if Drinkwitz can finally take Mizzou to the promise land.
