Did they really think a guy that runs a scheme like Chad Morris does was going to come in and turn that shite show around in less than 3-5 years?

Clemson already had the type of player he needed to run the system. Arkansas has been trying to play 3 yards and a cloud of dust like the rest of the SEC West forever.

A guy like Morris is exactly what they needed to gain an edge and possibly become competitive in that division.

Naw, I didn’t know a ton about Morris before Arky, but knowing what I know now and seeing him in many many interviews, he ain’t high-level HC material. Or even mid p5 level for that matter.

I’m actually quite surprised he had any success as a college OC. Maybe it was the talent, and not the OC.

It doesn’t matter what they’re thinking, they don’t have the players to compete in the west.

They need to think about who can get the players first and scheme later.

There was a point sandwiched somewhere between the 44-17 North Texas game and the 45-19 WKU game that i remember saying to myself "This mofo right here has got it figured out, Arkansas better give him some more time!"

idk what scheme he ran here but it certainly wasnt coherent enough to resemble an offense.

if a coach cant get kids lined up right he probably should be a coach.

I don't care what scheme you run, you don't lose to San Jose State or get blown out by Western Kentucky as an SEC program.

The scheme would have attracted better skill players.

He didn't even get a chance to coach a single upperclassman that he recruited.

Arkansas is not really an SEC program when "SEC" is used as an adjective.

Agreed, I was really thinking by year 5 we would keep the Western Kentucky game within 2 TDs.

He has no one to blame but himself. He had enough talent already to win against some of the teams he was losing to in Year2.

Not to mention it was pretty apparent he was simply out of of his league in the SEC.

You know...I unironically said the same thing. It's hard to start out at a new school and change their identity. It's hard when you do it at a good school, much less a perennial shite tier school.

He was coaching kids recruited to run the ball up the middle 30 times a game. It's no wonder they had trouble in a scheme like Morris'.

Yeah, frick them for wanting to see some kind of positivity by November of Year 2, right?

He shouldn't have been hired to begin with. He showed nothing at SMU to suggest he was ready for that job.

Arkansas was thinking they could do better than a HS coach trapped in a college coach's body

The QB who beat them last week transferred this past offseason from Arkansas to WKU. Morris had recruited Starkel and his former QB at SMU to replace the kid.

Arkansas kid who was evidently a HS phenom. I suspect him being the guy who led that embarrassing arse kicking was a major factor in Morris being launched

I tried to defend Morris and thought he should get another year until this last game. There's no defense for that or on his team for that matter.

A word to the wise, stay away from clemson coaches,we fired Danny by God Ford and now this guy.

Small college conference coaches don't pan out in big boy football.
