not entirely wrong. fisher would likely still be in Tallahassee if there was a bigger rush

Some boosters were not willing to pony up because of Jimbo. He leaves and they are gonna start on a new football facility

He was definitely unhappy, between the admin, the boosters, the fans, and getting cucked he was miserable.
Sounds like a weak man. He'll fit in great in College Station.

He was unhappy other schools caught him in recruiting. Jimbo knew he couldn't beat dabo or Richt and was two years away from being fired. He cashed out and conned a starved program to bite on the most ridiculous contract in sports.

Well, thank God for Joe Alleva then! If not for his steady hand and wise counsel, LSU might have been stuck with that loser Jimbo Fisher. Congrats on your good fortune!

Classic loser technique. when you can't rebut the truth, fallback on some silly tagline. At least throw something out like ...jimbo only went 6 and 6 cause he quarterback was hurt or hey he finished 3 in his division.

You're the same guy that says O only needs to win 5 games to keep his job.

Thank God. I dont know how much alleva had to do with it but someone didn't buy the hype.

Now Ed might be fired in the next two years (after likely beating Aggies again and finishing with a better record) but that's because we are LSU who dominates our state incruiting and steals those tigers from Houston and Mississippi and your that school who will always be lil Texas trying to convince Texas kids that you are better than big Texas.

Not saying he was or wasn't, but just asking. Because if now he is happy at aTm, that school will begin showing that in not too long. Recruiting. Performance. Wins. They will outshine the Longhorns and their new coach Herman. Of course that might not be saying a lot. But they will also make some big noise in the SEC West and could become a major factor in finally deposing Sabanbama from the throne.

It was a shrewd move by Jimbo and not one coaches often take. He knew the immediate future at FSU was rocky and he wanted to cash in and extend his run at high-ish level CFB. If he sticks around and gets canned at FSU, he's not getting a job like A&M.

So he dashes out for a big payday and a steep contract that will ensure he'll get 4+ years in College Station. A&M is the perfect target too, has the money, has the desperation for championship-level football, but you'll get a longer leash than you would at a top tier program.

If he's mediocre (but not a total failure) at A&M, I won't be surprised to see him make a lateral jump to a school out of the SEC, like UNC or something. He can blame any mediocrity on the conference and extend his top earning life even longer.

Most coaches won't do that, they're too competitive to grab on to the life preserver and move down a bit even if it's for top dollar. Jimbo is acting like one of us, and I can respect that.

Correct. If he doesn't win 5 games he is gone. I think he wins 9 if you are implying that I think he wins 5.

So Jimbo is the worst coach in the world because despite his great track record he had one subpar season, but whose track record is littered with failure you want to keep him even if he has a losing season.

Jimbo is a good coach. He will put a quality team on the field. Aggies will likely rotate with LSU and Auburn every few years to challenge bama. But he is not saban west or even repeat his acc success or be the demise of LSU.

I didn't say I would keep ed with 5 wins. I wouldn't have hired him. I said LSU will not fire him at 6 and 6 in his second year.

I'm curious...if LSU was looking for a head coach after last year, who among the coaches at new schools would you have wanted if money was no object?

The Aggy definition of success seems a bit lost since y'all haven't experienced anything remotely close to it in football since a fricking house ran you about $3K. Jimbo is a good coach. No one is disputing that. He's just been a 3/4/5 loss coach without Winston. Y'all are acting like that's just some super secret made up stat.

IMO the boosters weren't all in with Jimbo after the Jameis Winston debacle. Jimbo wanted facility upgrades and FSU wasn't willing to do it.

Ungettables... saban urban Franklin dabo peterson Patterson.

Frost would kill at lsu. I liked Mullen. Petrino is a good coach. Fuentes. The year before we lost Herman. He would have been good.
