I posted before the first game that this might the key game that determines who represents the west given that AU has UGA and UA at home. And after Bama's initial run of bad inury luck on defense. And nothing has happened to change my mind.

You got LSU's defense. I like our chances.

Allowed:

vs Florida - LSU 28/AU 24

MS St - LSU 13/AU 23

So the LSU defense was better against common opponents and better overall statistically

I agree with every word you spake OP. This is one of those situations where the masses are full of shite and the hubris of fandom will prove wrong. I do know Auburn has the defense to beat LSU. It’s just will the freshman legacy get rattled in Tiger Stadium like he did at the Swamp? The reaction of the LSU fan base will be beautiful if AU pulls off the upset of that I’m certain. I hope the refs piss off the LSU fans in some way. I want the LSU fans to bitch about another team besides Bama for once.

Oh I totally believe Auburn could win. Just because we don’t talk about it doesn’t mean we don’t know it’s a top ten team we are playing.

Who cares what the talking heads are saying?

Also, losing to Auburn wouldn’t lessen the game at Alabama much or eliminate LSU from the SECCG. It actually could even improve our chances to win in Tuscaloosa. If you beat LSU and LSU beats Bama, you still have to win the IB to make it to Atlanta.

Do you think AU is going to beat both LSU and Alabama this year?

No one, and I mean NO ONE is talking about this as a possible upset. It's all about #1 and #2 in Tuscaloosa in 3 weeks. The clash of the titans. Undefeated Alabama, undefeated LSU. Will Tua be healthy when undefeated Alabama and undefeated LSU play? Which one of these heisman front runners will shine in the clash of unbeatens?

No one likes auburn and no one ever has. The reason they don't get respect is because no one cares for their fans, their city, their traditions, their school, or their team.

Just about everyone that does think of auburn occasionally, only wishes for them to lose and drop out of sight entirely so as to not clutter things up.

I think we get 1 of the big 3 left. If we got some really good breaks, maybe 2. But winning all 3 is way too tall an order for a team with a true frosh QB.

Any of the 3 big boys we have left will have to make mistakes and we will have to play our best game to win, but I don't see an invincible team in the bunch this year. We are the weakest of the Top 10 SEC teams, but we still have the goods to knock off anybody if the chips fall our way.

The only chance aubren has is if they don't get called for mugging the lsu receivers all game.

And maybe lots of turnovers for 6.

JB has become the best qb in the conference this year. I honestly hope he wins the Heisman.

You better believe you will see the same SEC protectionist BS officiating this Saturday in Baton Rouge .... AU will have to beat LSU and the officials... I put the over under on PI and holding calls against AU at + 9 in the game

Wow some serious, hate free, civil football being discussed in this thread. I believe Auburn has the defense to beat all of “the big 3”. It’s just a matter of the freshman legacy making mistakes or not. He can not throw an interception like Tua did last night in the red zone, or like he did at the Swamp. Auburn lost to Florida on two plays both of which were freshman QB mistakes. It’s asking a lot, but if AU can play turnover free football, they can win the West no doubt. Give me a team that plays defense and runs the ball any day.

We're going to have to pair down our carries on Saturday in Red Stick. Cant have 8 guys carry the ball. We need DJ Williams, Harold Joiner, and maybe Shivers to tote the mail and Schwartz on some speed sweeps to open up the middle. Kam Martin and Malik Miller are good Auburn men, but they dont need to touch the ball.
