you may not realize it but youve just pointed out exactly who you compare to in this conference, at least in football.

Also, he has too many a-hole assistants. You can have a couple. But Jimbo seems to delight in hiring as many dickheads as possible.

Don't y'all have a guy on staff that left his wife and kids to marry a stripper? And the stripper had a monkey? And the stripper's monkey bit a kid?

Y’all should’ve never hired Bjork. We had a fricking celebration when y’all “stole” him from us.

They have an undisputed commitment to being great. Can’t fault them for the commitment.

Like people organizations often pursue greatness while having no idea what greatness looks like. I’d bet they spend an inordinate amount of time comparing themselves and their strengths and weaknesses against other programs like Alabama. That time is better spent working on improving yourself and to hell with what greatness looks like in Tuscaloosa or anywhere for that matter. Concentrating on yourself instead of others is the path to greatness.

With all the money and resources they’ve poured into that team it’s insane they’re not winning.

Hell we hired a half-literate swamp monster (still love that dude) who literally had a felon con artist wrote him a binder of how to win that he followed to a historical season in 2 years.

Overreacting, then throwing money at everything and everyone as if thats the only way to improve.

It is a culture problem and people from the outside see it as awkward and cringe.

That has always been used negatively against them in recruiting.

Recently they had to buy a whole class and tell them to look away.
I think this is it, historically.

Now with nil, they can buy a recruiting class, but ultimately, you end up with recruits that are not excited about being there

I think the University of Texas kind of holds them back. They escaped the (admittedly small) shadow for more than a decade and still couldn't be materially more successful.

It's tough when you can't be better than the second best brand in the state.

They do have a better veterinary school though.

I wonder if it just proves that some programs have it and some don’t in college football, no matter what you do.

Some programs just win, it’s woven into the fabric of the program. It’s something you can’t slap a price on and isn’t really able to explained logically.

They hired Jimbo. Next question. It's not rocket science.

All the money in the world doesn't mean much when you choose a bad coach as your hire.

Jimbo
QB
Mojo
Traditions
Recruiting a lot of talented players and not developing them.

But even with Jimbo “handicapping” the program everything else is there.

Even if Jimbo just sucks arse you would think 10 win seasons would be incoming semi regularly just with everything else that has been brought to the table regarding upgrades, an incredible recruiting class, facilities

Maybe even getting to Richt level while at Georgia.

But that’s my point.

Could Richt have won like he did at Georgia with the incredible amount of resources available at A&M?

You would think so……but not so sure.

A&M the past few years is the exact opposite of how to build a program in the NIL era

This is who you want your football program to be compared to? Seriously?

You answered the question the OP posed.

I dont understand why these schools dont do contracts geared toward incentives.

So you’ve never see a contract with incentives? Or just never seen a contract?

They are handcuffed to Jimbo's contract. I just hope that LSU don't end up in the same predicament with the that stupid contract they gave BK.

Kelly’s a far better coach than Jimbo, not even close. When has Jimbo built a program?

Poor coaching hires and a loser culture

It's a self-fulfilling (in this case, defeating) prophecy. They are ordained in a constructivist view of the world to implode, and they can't move past it.
