How many teams could lose likely QB1 two weeks before the season and still have a guy that has started for a major program on the roster? In what world is that bad roster management?

One Quarterback just opted out of the season and the other was just cleared for practice two weeks ago, man.

The guys behind the two transfers, guys who aren't familiar with the team, the playbook or anything else -- are Dwan Mathis (never snapped the ball live), Stetson Bennett (a prior walk-on, might still be) and Carson Beck (True Freshman).

JT isn't Joe Burrow, he's playing on a busted knee that he might still be recovering from and might not even make it to game one.

That's...not great roster management.

Just a recap:

QB1: Opted out.
QB2: Busted up leg, just cleared two weeks ago.
QB3: Never played a down in college football.
QB4: True Freshman.
QB5: Walk-on who only played DII and garbage time.

The vast majority of college depth options have very little or no experience, especially in situations where a QB declares early and another opts out in a global pandemic.

It’s not like a coach in early January was going to be like “I better get a third transfer because of a potential global pandemic.” That would have actually been unreasonable.

You seem to ignore the "management" part of roster management.

Kirby has Eason and Fromm on the roster but still pulls in the best available QB in fields.

Justin Fields transfers for a better offensive system at tOSU. Kirby takes tOSU's 4 star QB recruit.

Jake Fromm leaves early for the NFL. Kirby takes 2 grad transfers. One is marked as the 4th best QB in the upcoming draft. The other is the second coming of Matt Stafford.

Here we are after Newman walks away, and Kirby's management has a 5 star immediately eligible transfer, tOSU's primary QB recruit from 3 classes ago (6'6" fast QB who was listed as a pro style prospect from HS), and a 4 star true freshman.

That is management. Kirby is on it.
He has only had 1 area of roster mismanagement (TE) and 1 area where a hurricane of circumstances marked a teams talent at a position a failure (WR 2019 due to 3 NFl early entrants, 1 player kicked off the team, and injuries to 3 other WRs).
