Based on how all the national media heads talked glowingly about him as one of the best coaches in the country during the coaching change, his reputation is just fine. I think you are bitter and spiteful and are projecting.

Again, why would any coach want to have to deal with Kentucky fans?

1. We don't have calipri anymore so I'm looking forward to basketball for the first time in many moons.

2. KSR is a meme that should not be taken seriously, though I kinda already thought this before.

3. This board has an obsession with all coaching searches and will post all names every chance they get and pretend they were offered/had a talk with a given school

listening to the talking heads on college gameday would make you believe that. They’ve never criticized anyone other than the NCAA. Listen to anyone else that actually analyzes basketball and you might find out something

You could easily say the same for Alabama Football fans. Glass houses and all.

There was literally nothing in kywildcats’s post that came off as bitter or spiteful. He’s literally saying he hopes Cal regains some of what he loss in the last 5 years at Kentucky.

My brother was for the first time seriously mulling dropping his season tickets after 20 years or so. That idea has been nixed. Now he’s dreading the wait for the season.

That Kentucky isn’t the desperate, insecure program that a lot of schools are. They hired a very good coach who has roots at UK and they’ll likely be a lot tougher to beat than they have been in recent years.

Why would UK WBB fans share common traits with mama football?

This definitely was themed "Kentucky across the chest" means something. I'm actually excited to see him at work. He will have unlimited resources, and it will be fun to see how good he can be.

Evidently some boosters and/or Mitch vetoed some of those names. When it got down to it they went with a guy that bleeds blue and wanted the job and embraced the BBN.

None of us knows how this will work out but it is refreshing to hear a coach want to win championships more than put people in the NBA. A coach that realizes that UK is more than him and has humility. A man that loves UK, his family and God.

Who is this dumb shite “captdalton”? Never seen him on here much before. Sounds like a homer (for a team with ONE final four all time), with an axe to grind with UK. And no, a substantial part of the fan base didn’t want Nate Oats, regardless of the price. Kentucky fans filled Rupp (23000 capacity) today for a press conference and turned away another 5K who wanted to attend. No one else, not UCONN, not UNC or Duke, or anyone else in the SAeC, nor anyone else in MCB except perhaps Kansas or Indiana, could have remotely demonstrated such fan support for the program. Pope will bring a big improvement in Xs and Os, the NIL money will now roll in, and Kentucky will be back on top in no time.

Back when Pitino was hired he had no idea what he was getting into until Joe B. warned him about it. Now everybody knows.

Pitino hated his time at UK so much he said he wished he had never left, put out a video giving Pope a ringing endorsement and said he’s going to donate to the UK NIL fund.

Haters making crap up now, awesome.

Stephen A Smith and Shannon Sharp said Calipari underachieved with the talent he had recruited. They quoted 8 No.1 classes, 7 number 2 classes and one No 5 class. They compared Cal to Hall and Smith. They discussed the last four years.

The guys that broadcast don’t say anything bad about anyone in the coaching fraternity.

What kind of juicy details did you find out about Nate Oats nasty divorce? When will he be able to leave the state of Alabama?

7. No matter how much success Pope has, there will be a segment of the Kentucky fanbase that will soon be calling for his head and demanding a new coach.

8. Kentucky fans will conveniently forget how this search went and will convince themselves they can get any coach they want. They will fire up the “Fire Pope!” movement. And it will be wash, rinse, repeat.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

A very miserable human being that can’t stand the thought that UK fans are fine with Calipari leaving and Mark Pope being our coach. He ignores any and all facts because his monomania ignored facts that don’t conform to his pre-conceived notions.
The sight of 20,000 fans in Rupp today was just too much for his tortured brain. But let him rant so men will know him mad.
