I don't necessarily want it to go away I just wish they would do the permanent captains' hand/footprint thing differently. Either do something for all sports around Denny Chimes, or do the football prints at the stadium and do something similar for the other sports.

I’d agree with the corps block seating. I honestly only think Junior abs Senior should receive any special recognition at all whether it be block seating or even march in. I was MCEP so I admit that my opinion on the whole thing is a little out of the norm though.

Also, and I know this will be unpopular, but I am kind of tired of hearing Kanye. If we don’t change it soon I’m afraid we will be stuck with it for another decade.

People yelling "down in front" but being quiet on third down

God damn it, it is a football game. You are supposed to "stand up and holler". It is in the Two Bits chant.

March in is a graded pass in review.

When I first started getting into college football, I always thought A&M was a military school, and thought A&M stood for Agricultural and Military. I guess it’s the seating reserved for all the cadets and the military band that made me always think that.

Interesting. Didn’t know it was graded. Can’t believe I didn’t know that.

It makes up almost 70% of the Hochmuth scoring criteria.

I would also not mind seeing the $1,000,000 Band be chopped from the field. The music and AV system is so loud now that it’s kind of supplanted the band

Yikes, it’s the latter that needs to be toned down, not the band.

Surprised that a couple of Bama fans don’t like Rammer Jammer.

Get rid of Callin’ Baton Rouge by Garth Brooks. Unpopular opinion but it’s cheesy as frick. It’s literally about a booty call for fricks sake, not the city of Baton Rouge

WarEagle, Tigers... too complicated...let's allow Aubie to mate with the Eagle and produce this new WarGriffin:

The Corp “triggers” me for a few reasons.

1.) I realize this is an over generalization but every Corp member I’ve met or been friends with (which is many) think they are a “better” Aggie and “keeper of the spirit” vs the non-regs. I realize not all will have this mentality of course but it’s been my experience

2.) When you meet someone outside Texas, they think everyone was in the corps. That’s the first question I get when someone finds out I went to A&M. Again a student organization of 5%.

3.) this is not the corps fault explicitly and it’s not right, but the corp of cadets propagates the “A&M is racist” myth in my opinion.

Holy crap.

1) I think they are not the ONLY keepers of the spirit, but are clearly the most direct link to the core of it. This is like resenting the actual military because they have a sense of duty to the country. Plenty of other people have that sense, too. Doesn’t mean it detracts from them. It seems like you are projecting and/or exaggerating something.

2) You resent the corps because people outside the school easily associate them with A&M? I don’t even know what this means, much less how it’s the Corps’ fault.

3) This is the coup de grace of the inanity of this thread. I literally don’t have the words to counter this. It just seems like you want to reward ignorance.

I don't like the elephant noise after we score. We score a lot now, it gets old quick. Not a fan of the light show but the younger folks like it, so I'll live with that. But we really need to lose the elephant trumpet.

Tell us more about Corps Block Seating, the keepers of the spirit, and graded reviews!

I'm sure an Aggie started this thread to learn about other traditions and not to prattle on and on about their own cult rituals.

It is interesting to read some of the things you other guys do that you hate or like.

I don't like thunderous piped in music and commercials. At Texas, you'd think we were the University of Taco Bell with all their logos on everything.
