Check our record against A&M or Alabama.
A&M chokes the rare times they have something meaningful to play for. Check out their trophy case at the ironically named Hall of Champions.

I wouldn't give a damn if 10,000 trans attended Texas. They don't scare me anymore than a puffed up Aggie does.
I'm glad Texas isn't #1. Still a ways to go to earn that, and I want the team hungry all year. Should we be undefeated after the Georgia game, then let's talk about the top ranking.
Looking forward to the Dawgs coming to Austin.
A&M will make a nice dessert at the end of the season which I'm in no rush to see speed by. Feels good being good again with so many interesting teams on the schedule.

Reed looked good indeed. What little I saw of Henderson (y'all were playing at the same time as us), he looked pretty good as well.
I wonder if those two qbs fit Klein's offense better the Weigman. I don't have to tell you about your OL and the danger to QBs. Remarkable y'all could lose three due to that line and still field a formidable threat with #4.
Credit to your team, they didn't give up and made a game of it the second half.

re: Who was the worse SEC addition: Texas A&M or Tennessee?
Posted by Earl Nobis on 12/16/23 at 1:34 pm
I assume the SEC teams feel insulted at A&M's assertion that Texas is going to come and start shoving everybody around. Even if Texas felt like trying, there are too many other big programs.
Aggies like the ones you find on TexAgs, or evidently around here, live in a fear/hate dream when it comes to Texas (they can't even allow themselves to say our name). For them, it's not a rivalry; it's a jihad. This is not hyperbole. They believe they represent good in a fight against evil. No other rivalry is like that.
Their paranoia fuels delusions and lying about the past.
You've already observed their weirdness.
Arkansas hates the shite out of us in the more traditional way. Same with OU. The Aggie thing is something totally different.
Looking forward to playing the great programs of the SEC. I'm relieved that we seem to be on the upswing.

Crazy to think that to a 13 year old, Texas AM has been more relevant than Texas in their lifetime…
Crazy to think that nobody alive today likely recalls the Aggies last national championship. Nobody this century has seen them win a conference championship.
Their 12 year claim of being more relevant than Texas is shaky at best, but that's a pretty low bar considering we're down. What do the Aggies have to show for this period of excellence?
You guys are either listening to the Aggie fear too much about the ebil Longhorns or you're actually Aggies yourselves.
This all going to be fun.
re: Predict the first moment once Texas joins when they find out, They are not special,

I see Aggies are making a desperate bid to make their big brothers in the SEC hate their big brother coming over from the Biggish 12. It's just their usual stream of lies.
When Texas entered what became the Big 12, they did get many changes made to conference rules from the Big 8 (I wish we could have come up with a better name than Big XX). Texas proposed the rules, and every school voted for them except for Nebraska whom the rules favored. Texas didn't impose anything.
For some reason, Texas had the mojo over Nebraska in football. Osborne hated Texas and they're close to the Big 10, so they hit the ejection seat.
The only other team that fled because of Texas was A&M. They did so after agreeing to stay and accepting the offer of more money from the conference: an offer that Texas and OU declined to accept because they didn't want to punish the other schools who stayed. A&M jumped before the end of the three years they promised to stay.
I think Missouri left for what they saw as greener pastures. I don't think they had any particular grudge or fear of Texas.
Colorado jumped because, as the realignment started, speculation was that they would have trouble finding a landing spot. Again, not fear and dread of evil Texas.
Aggies lie about Texas all the time on subjects big and small. You'll learn the truth overtime. I'll just use the example of the horns down lie.
Texas did not show up one day at conference headquarters with tears in their eyes about the mean hand gesture. No.
This happened after we played at Texas Tech. A Texas receiver scored then did the guns up gesture the Red Raiders use then holstered the gun. A guns down if you will. He was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct.
You can see the problem. Horns down had been an OU tradition for decades. Aggies and other teams came late to the gesture. Texas had ignored, been annoyed, or been amused by it for a long time without asking for a rule change. Texas just wanted the rule equitably applied.
Aggies, so concerned about feeling more manly than everybody else, distorted the story into the lie they tell over here all the time.
Nobody at Texas thinks the way Aggies want you to believe. We have our share of arrogance and we actually are among the special football schools, but nobody expects kowtowing or any other special treatment.
I'm anxious to play the schools of the SEC. I'm also more excited than I thought I'd be about dominating A&M again in our biggest in-state rivalry.

1939 is nuthin'. They won 2 (two!) national championships in the summer of 2012!
They are indeed the "Darth Vader of College Football," as chin pubes or somebody over there claimed that they were in the last few days.

Aggies scared. Already lining up the excuses:
It's Arkansas' Super Bowl. You better hope not because they played damn well in the first one this year.
Aggie struggling on defense since their shitty first team QB was replaced by their shitty second team QB. Excuse. We'd a won with the first team stick man. It's amazing they think both are better than NFL draftee Mond.
They'll hug their win-streak security blanket when they lose. Moral victory.
Be fun to play the Aggies again.

Tell us more about Corps Block Seating, the keepers of the spirit, and graded reviews!
I'm sure an Aggie started this thread to learn about other traditions and not to prattle on and on about their own cult rituals.
It is interesting to read some of the things you other guys do that you hate or like.
I don't like thunderous piped in music and commercials. At Texas, you'd think we were the University of Taco Bell with all their logos on everything.

Dominated rivals whine about the refs and mean ol' tu.
I really didn't expect this kind of stuff from Arky. Maybe it's just one or two guys and they're not actually so petty.
Should be intense next week, Hawgs. Let's play it.

I'm glad we got him. Seems like a better than solid pick up to me even if Alabama (huge surprise) got a better prospect.

I like how Missouri and A&M are sharing their deep history and knowledge of the SEC with us. Thanks, guys.

I didn't say I loved the SEC. I'm not an Aggie. I went to a school that has its own identity and winning tradition. I don't have that sad hole in the middle of my existence that I must fill with the humiliation of riding on the success of others.
I liked the SWC when it was good. I liked the Big 12 for many years. I'll like the SEC. But I'm a Longhorn from Texas.

Yea, we're their bitch, but not yours.
Oh, and I have it on good authority from the resident Aggies that records don't count until 1973. So we're good.

I'm getting pretty happy about the prospect of being in the SEC. Sorry to ruin A&M's fantasy. Not really.
Nice to know that football only counts from 1973 after A&M won about 3 games in 3 decades. I think they broke a 7 game win streak by Texas in 1975.
No need to address their tirades about Texas. Y'all aren't anymore persuaded by their howling than anybody else familiar with them.
Hope we can get this whole thing rolling in 2022.

Those statements are unrelated. Our record has no bearing on a statement about the toughness of the SEC schedule.
