The game is definitely bigger for Alabama, mainly for DeBoer. People are still a little uncertain with DeBoer.
I think Keelon coming on has ameliorated those uncertainties to a massive extent along with the performance in the running game by the young guys, Brown and Crowell specifically - Keelon also factors to that as well
People forget DeBoer's the one who flipped Keelon from SMU when he was a 3-star at the time before he blew up in the summer camps and his senior season to be highest-ranked recruit Alabama ever signed. LSU and a bunch of other SEC fanbases, maybe even some Alabama fans, gave the program so much crap for that at the time as a sign that Bama was burning and the dynasty was dead.
As much crap as I give KD because I think Lane's a superior offensive mind and head coach, etc, etc, me being an LSU fan, KD doing that 2 years ago before Keelon blew up reflects great talent evaluation skills.
Not to mention, Louisville has fallen off a cliff this year so far with Klemm leaving them for Alabama and that improved the Alabama offensive line so far
Really the only person on KD's staff that might be overrated is Grubb. There's a reason he flamed out so spectacularly in 1 year in the pros and last year was so bad in terms of the run game performance. Keelon and Klemm are making him look way better than he actually is. Feel free to correct me if that's an incorrect assessment.

If a Kirby Smart defense got burned by Jalen freaking Milroe and Ty Simpson at home with zero run game, very probable that Keelon burns them to a crisp
Keelon and the WRs vs the UGA secondary will be pure cinema
2017, kirby had a plan for Hurts. Tua killed us.
2018, kirby had a plan for tua. Jalen killed us.
Since then, kirby has won the rematches.
Kirby can gameplan for the QB. Will it be this weekend? We will see.
The last 6 quarters against Deboer have been very impressive for Kirbys defense.

Who’s advantage is the game is played in the rain?
The more miserable the environment the better it is to affect the crowd. Especially if they’ve been rained in all day.
Soaked turf field makes it harder for players to cut and avoid defenders. That includes the QB. If it’s a muddy slugfest which favors downhill runs and short passes I feel better about our chances at night in Tuscaloosa.

our game plan against milroe was utter dogshit in 2023 and about 60% of 2024.
to your point though, most of our other gameplans were excellent.
Keelon is a lot more milroe than he is simpson, so we could have a perfect coverage called and still see him bust loose. I hate playing this kind of QB.
We will be the best defense he's seen in his career though, and our offense is beter than any bama has faced this year, so I'm not ready to just throw in the towel quite yet.

That's maybe the point of this game being big in the sense of seeing this current staff make a statement that Alabama is as good as anyone.
One could just easily argue that Grubb's offense looking great with a line recruited to fit his schemes and actually block isn't as much being propped up by an O-line coach as a bare necessity for any offensive coordinator.
Time will tell.

No doubt. Trae'shawn Brown was also a 3* RB that was committed to Boise. Now the dude is playing as a true freshman and has looked impressive. Lotzeir Brooks was also another 3*. Somebody is doing some pretty incredible talent evaluations.
