at least 4, in your scenario. I mean 4 made it last year, why not this year?
A 10-2 UGA whose only losses are on the road to bama and neutral against UF isn't getting left out of the playoffs. There is truly no scenario where that would happen.

QB dev is coming along nicely. Combine that with #1 catching the ball more consistently, Bama has a good chance.
This will definitely be the test of where things are.

Are you fricking retarded? You have to make the playoff to win or lose a game in the playoff.
The loser of this game can likely only afford one more loss, and both have more than one losable game left on the schedule

Likely, but that always depends on who they lose to, when they lose, how they lost, and who else is in that 1- and 2- loss bubble after BS AQ teams.
We've seen enough of the other conferences to know the ACC and Big 12 are complete and utter dog shite. They are getting 1, MAYBE 2 teams in. The big 10 will have a few. Some bullshite P5 qualifier. With 12 teams, and the current CFB landscape, there is no scenario that a 10-2 UGA is left out. None.

You dont want to be a 2 loss team trying to get in vs Podunk State Conference Champ of the Little Better than High School Conference who played one more game than you and also has 2 losses

All P4 conference champs get in, so we wouldn't be competing with whoever that team would be.
There are 7 "at large" bids, and there simply is no way that a 10-2 UGA would get passed up by SEVEN other teams. that didn't win their conference.

Pretty sure you said bama wouldn't lose to BK and LSU. Although it only happened once... that shite still happened.

Looking at the stats, these teams are about as even as you can get. It's scary how much they mirror each other. Alabama is a little more prone to being sloppy at times with committing mistakes/penalties, but it has not hurt them yet. They can't do that against Georgia though, as UGA is the type of team that will make you pay for it.
Alabama has played a better schedule so far, but you already know Kirby is going to have a great team regardless of schedule they've played. Keelon Russell is the type of QB that seems to give Kirby (and Saban) problems. On the other hand, Gunner Stockton is a baller and is super efficient. Alabama's D has given up the big plays this season so that's something look out for.
In all, I think this game is going to be close. Alabama playing at home is the advantage.

UGA MUST WIN...if they do not their backs are to the wall and a second L could not only cost them any shot at a conference title, it could keep them home for the playoffs.
If Georgia loses, they'll be 5-1 with a loss on the road to a 6-0 Alabama that'll be getting as many overall #1 votes as anyone.
Georgia will likely still be ranked around #6 to 8.
There are no must win games for any contender at this point.
I'd argue that the game is bigger for Alabama just in the sense of having more tough road games down the stretch but not a must win for them either.

P4 champs + G6 highest ranked + top 12 ND = half the field.
Say UGA loses to Ole Miss (who finished with 1 loss) and Bama who finishes reg with 0-1 losses and Texas finishes with 0-1 losses. That places UGA 4th in the SEC and behind 3 potential at large bids.
That is 9 spots taken.
Assume BIG gets another at large spot. And, another of the ACC (Miami/Pitt) or Big 12 (TT/Utah) finish with 1-2 losses but played and lost in a CCG, that makes a tough spot for 2 loss, non-SEC CG team named UGA to squeeze in.
Not likely, but certainly possible

You are correct in that is is not likely. As in, practically 0% chance. A pitt or utah that finishes with 2 losses doesn't have a prayer of getting in over UGA, regardless of that 2nd loss coming in the SECCG.
FYI for 2026 a new SOS metric is going to be used by the playoff committee to place more weight on playing higher quality opponents. This is a massive help in UGA's favor. UGA would have played @bama, Florida (neutral), @ OM, and Missouri while pitt or utah would have played, uh..errmmm....well you get the picture.

Keelon Russell
If a Kirby Smart defense got burned by Jalen freaking Milroe and Ty Simpson at home with zero run game, very probable that Keelon burns them to a crisp
Keelon and the WRs vs the UGA secondary will be pure cinema
We all know Bobo can move the ball on a Kane Wommack defense but UGA always gets off to slow starts in these games, like they're way too tight and jittery and that costs them typically

Unless they win their P4 conference and turn the 0 or 1 loss opponent into a 1-2 loss team in reference to Miami and/or TT

A 10-2 Georgia team might miss the playoffs. 10-4, got it!

Yeah, losing to Alabama on the road (especially in a close game) is not some death blow to Georgia that ends all their chances, lol. They will be fine and easily make the playoffs.
The game is definitely bigger for Alabama, mainly for DeBoer. People are still a little uncertain with DeBoer. If he wins this game (which he does have a pretty good track record in top 25 matchups), then you'll start to see more and more people believing in what he's doing. This is his first true season where he has guys on offense that are his guys.

Why do LSU fans do this to themselves? Bama is 30-10-3 lifetime in Tiger Stadium. Kiffin has never beaten Bama. What possible evidence is there this year will be different?
LSU fan here
LSU has to TCB in October to basically set up a 2-game season both being homestands in TS and, with 1 L on the ledger already, they have to go 1-1 in those games at the very least to make the playoff
Kentucky after 5 games and it being a night game in Lexington won't be a duckwalk like it used to be, ever since the Bama shellacking they have improved every week at least offensively
Bama provided the blueprint for how to shut down Kentucky and I believe LSU to have more and superior talent than this year's Bama team that they should do so as well but Kentucky might be at a better place than they were Week 2 having a whole month to gel together in game situations as a team
I trust Lane and Blake to have the team ready, that LSU defense is NASTY especially against the run
We'll get to Bama when November comes around
