Joey Votto says Bama wins big

My guess is something like 35-31 where everyone goes away saying those 2 teams are very good and pretty equal

It's interesting that both teams are so much better than they were at this point last season.

Bama is down 2 "co-starter" type edge rushers. Justin Hill and Dez Zulu, but that allowed Xavier Griffin onto the field last week and he lead the team in tackles and sacked Kamario twice (only credited officially with 1)
Our starting right tackle was out against MSU but the backup played pretty well most of the game. No word if he will be back. Other than those 3 it's guys that have been out all season.
I trust our front seven a lot. We are prone to the chunk play on the back end and tempo bothers us, but thankfully UGA doesn't want to play offense at warp speed. Kamario made mistakes against us but he also made some big time throws that were against great coverage where you just had to tip your hat. If we can force Gunnar into that, instead of busting coverages, I like our chances.
Bama has already seen multiple ball carriers in the top 50 in the country in rushing yards this season. Kromah, Fuller, Sellers, and Baxter are all in the top 50 and Patterson is at 51. So in 5 weeks we've seen about all we're going to see defensively. Spread tempo, big arm QB, mobile QB, fast receivers, giant receivers, powerful running backs...what we haven't seen much is an offense that has the ability and want-to to feature the tight end, which I am certain will be in the game plan for Georgia and we looked vulnerable between the hashes in the passing game last week against MSU
On the other side of the ball, we haven't seen a defense with the team speed that Georgia has, particularly the run and chase ability at linebacker. I like our WRs against their secondary, I like our offensive line against their rush (Carolina has two edge guys that would arguably start at UGA) but I think their run and chase ability is going to limit our ability to consistently get a hat on a hat at the second level in the run game which could squeeze everything down for us. The pin and pull scheme we run can be neutralized by athletic backside pursuit at the second level- and it can obviously play a part in limiting those 15 yards scrambles into 5 yards scrambles.
Overall I give Alabama a slight edge- I think from a raw talent standpoint the teams are on pretty equal footing, but I think the pieces we have on offense, particularly at QB and WR are just too capable at flipping a game in one play. Bama can go 3 and out, 3 and out, 70 yard touchdown. 2 yard gain, 2 yard gain, 60 yard touchdown. There's just a lot of stress on a defense on every play, and Grubb is pretty good at scheming guys open down the field- we just haven't been able to provide the time in the past

What are yalls early thoughts on Bama/Ga game?
It's time for bama to shite the bed
Actually although it is indeed that time and my hope is it happens, bama looks different this year. I think they handle Georgia pretty easily

The winner is likely in the driver's seat going into the playoffs.

Those are back ups and impact some of the depth
Technically, those are our 1st and 2nd string X receivers.
But I agree that we appear to have more impactful receivers so far this season. That is what often happens with early season injuries. Others get opportunities to step up. And for us, Taylor, Dandridge, and White Helton have.

UGA MUST WIN...if they do not their backs are to the wall and a second L could not only cost them any shot at a conference title, it could keep them home for the playoffs.
For a team with such lofty preseason expectations, this would be a huge blow given it will have been Alabama that did it to them once again

Lose this and ask that a-hole. Youll be in deep trouble.

A 10-2 UGA is 100% making the playoffs.
And honestly after the last 2 years of wininng the SEC and getting cold and rusty entering the playoffs, it wouldn't be the worst thing to get a tune up against some shite cupcake in Athens in round 1.

It will take about 3 years for the fans to keep up
This is a playoff. No one wins anything in September, October, or November.
The game is meaningless for both teams.
You need to check yourself. You are in the past

It isnt about being cold.
It is about being healthy.
Starting QB
Starting C
Top receiving targets.
You play with what you have.
But goal #1 during the regular season (other than to improve every day and every week) is to be healthy for the post season.

Georgia has not been tested and are on cruise control to start the season.
This is reminiscent of Saban's teams at Bama. Blowing opponents out early in the season. Starters not having to play full games. And then they would run up against an Ole Miss or TAMU mid-season and get beat. Bama has had to play the starters for pretty much the whole game every game. Are Georgia's starters ready to play a 60 minute game?
If Kirby can confuse Keelon and turn him over it will be a pretty easy win for Georgia. But if Keelon settles in a plays his game Bama by two touchdowns.

Correct

Incorrect. This game provides a massive cushion for the winner...winning this game and making the SECCG last year was the only reason bama was in the playoffs.
Like it or not Georgia appears to have 3 more losable games on the schedule with Ole Miss, Florida, and Mizzou. The odds of them losing to Bama and then going 1-2 in that stretch is slim but it's not zero.
Bama still has @ Tennessee and @ LSU. This game doesn't carry the importance of matchup in the 20teens, but it's not meaningless by any means. Lose it and you lose margin for error going forward

There is no cushion in a playoff.
Lose one game and you are done.
October games don't mean anything to the playoff.
You will figure this shite out by 2028.

Lets say you lose to the Gaytors and they win out. Lets say Bama wins out or loses 1.
.Texas will have a better record. Thats 3.How many SEC teams get in?

Likely, but that always depends on who they lose to, when they lose, how they lost, and who else is in that 1- and 2- loss bubble after BS AQ teams.
