I remember seeing this live like it was yesterday. I met Marshall McDuffie about a year after through a friend, nice guy.

A lot went down that day, one guy in the video charges in the mess swinging his helmet like a club.

FIU Miami Football Brawl

The brawls mentioned here are small potatoes. There was a different era, when fights were fought to the finish and cops thought it was funny and let boys be boys (that was also an era before guns and knives...).

Florida vs Florida State football began about 1958. Before that FSU was a girl's school. In about 1961 Fla State managed to tie UF in Gainesville. Well, the FSU student body decided to tear down the UF goal posts and several thousands charged the field... and were met by the half the UF student body. There were 3,000 students slugging it out on the field for a full 15-30 minutes... and I mean F-III-GHTEN' not dancing around and posturing.

I think this same year some FSU students climbed into the pen and used a hatchet to cut the tail off of Florida's live alligator mascot. Anyway, at the game I was a teenager selling cokes in the stadium and had front row seat. The goal posts remained upright.

We ( USC )got in a huge brawl vs Miami in the late 80s. If I knew how to add the video I would.

Miami took a cheap shot on our QB Todd Ellis and all hall broke loose.


Also in Lou Holtz last game vs Clemson their was some face stomping , eye gouging and even clinching the other guys nutz til here hollers uncle type shite. Holt's had completely lost all control of that team.

The 1983 USC vs Clemson brawl was pretty good too. We may have won this one but the 2005 fight the tigers stomped the shot out of us.
