We will never get that many teams in the tournament again.

We had 8 teams. 8 TEAMS! In the NCAA tournament, and not one is going to make the elite 8. That’s awful and the committee will remember when they’re looking at who’s in and who’s out in the future. If you’re a future bubble team, have fun playing in the NIT.
Do I think we’re better as a conference than we’ve probably ever been? Absolutely. But I think this will sting for a bit for us with the NCAA tournament.
Oh well.

Nah. Committee had two SEC teams seeded to make Sweet Sixteen. Two SEC teams made the Sweet Sixteen.
Committee has zero SEC teams seeded to make the Elite 8. So if zero make it then the committee essentially got it right. If one makes it then SEC outperformed actually.
The committee recognized what everyone else did. The SEC had a bunch of good teams but no elite teams.
No reason to think this result will someone hurt the SEC in the future. We are what they thought we were.

They might. But my point remains. Kentucky just got lucky with their draw.
Ugh.

But your point sucks. Pretty much everything about your OP looks to be wrong.

Statistically, with 8 teams in the field, we should have gotten at least 2 in the elite 8. Yeah I know, seeding and all and the higher seed is expected to win.... blah blah. But still, statistically should have been able to get 2 in.

Proving the committee right isn't going to cost you in the eyes of future committee.

People act like the SEC has never been a decent basketball conference before. Yeah it was a tough 5-10 year stretch but the SEC is a good basketball conference.

We always have Kentucky to carry the load.
Florida has done their part.
South Carolina went to the Final Four last year and I think LSU and State made it back in the 90s too. Arkansas was a beast until Nolan left. I
The league is really boring.
Ever follow your team to play Ole Miss? It is like a funeral there. Dead. Just so many boring venues. Ole Miss was so bad I had to mention it because I lost something that day. Dont ever go there

What?
The conference was full of good, not great teams. Everyone knew that. The conference had plenty of impressive non conference wins to justify the resumes. My god LSU even beat Michigan and Houston

It's not hard to figure out. We didn't have anyone seeded above a 4. We got almost exactly the same of teams to each round you'd mathematically expect.

Zero!!! Zero fricking teams in the elite 8. Were better than that guys. Better luck next year.

From a league where the highest seed was roughly 15 on the S-Curve.

No we’re not. No elite teams. Some ok teams but nobody in the top 8 in the country.

The Big 12 has potential for 3 to 4 teams to enter the elite 8.
