For State’s own sake, Ole Miss needs to finish with a really strong season because that would likely give the fuel you need to force an action like that. You’re screwed if you keep him another year.

You're right 100%

Was he on staff with Leach and promoted or outside hire?

His answers during in game interviews piss me off and I'm not even a State fan.

He's clueless.

I've got a sauce who was at SEC media days and isn't exactly a football savant, and he picked up on the fact that Arnett is in over his head.

He was the DC all three years under Leach. The way he immediately changed everything about the offense makes me wonder if Leach was going to fire him and once he got the gig he fired any Leach loyalists out of spite.

This was the first bad sign. There have been a lot since. It makes even less sense considering his loyalty to Rogers, who is passable in a Mike Leach offense, but utterly useless doing anything else.

Just go ahead and start trying to find a real coach. If he can’t make us even competitive with 20 seniors from a 9-4 team then he damn sure won’t build a program. We will be absolutely awful next year and he will end up fired anyways

This situation seems familiar. After Petrino crashed it was decided the best path forward was to hire John L Smith for a season and keep as much of Petrino’s staff and system in place and it would be smooth sailing and not skip a beat. Apparently that crap don’t work.

Oh well, my advice to you is……SMILE!

John L. Smith was an unmitigated disaster, but I'd trust him with a program over Arnett. Nothing against Arnett, but he has zero experience running anything at this level. Handing over the keys to that is a huge gamble with very little upside and it's showing.

I doubt Leach was going to fire him. Arnett was a really good DC

Arnett's offense scored more TDs against Bama last night than Leach's scored in three games combined. What's the problem?

You should really give Tommy Rees a look, it's time for him to be a head coach and you can get him on the cheap.

Totally has neutered Rodgers. First and most major mistake was not hiring someone running Pirate’s offense or at least a form of it.

Or finding a real QB who doesn’t need a gimmick system to ball

I have a feeling your administration is going to give him 2 years minimum

He didn’t hire Arnett. We didn’t have an AD when he was hired

All State fans and donors need to call AD everyday and big boosters need to put up the money needed to show we are serious.

Start the search midway through the season so you can announce before the portal and have a coach worth a damn.

I’m guessing everyone did. Especially those loudly saying the opposite.

No. No. No.

It is amazing how fans just jump off a cliff after a team loses some games. Patience is the key right now. We just lost to LSU and Bama, teams that are better than us. SC was generally looked at as a toss up game. But turnovers can kill any chance to win games in the conference.

We play Western Michigan Saturday so we will be 3-3 with an open date. That gives our NEW COACHING STAFF three weeks to be better gel with our players. I said before the season that we were a 6-6 team. That is still possible. Obviously we are disappointed but perseverance is needed right now.

Should have hired a Leach disciple. Now Leach's recruits don't fit Arnett's system. So fire the AD instead.

You guys should really go back and get Dan. NIL will recruit for him now. Florida never should have fired him.
