We are Croom era level bad, can Leach recover?

This year is a disaster. Problem is next year we lose what talent we do have. Leach has some good receivers committed but will he be given 3-4 years to build the program with his players? I doubt it with us looking this bad. We aren’t even competitive. 38 yards in the first half against Bama.
I’m quickly losing confidence that even with the right personnel that Leachs offense can work in the SEC beyond beating a couple scrubs each year

Sure, give him some time to recruit. He has turned it around everywhere else. MSU will be no different. I mean I wouldn't expect Saban like results but he will have his moments.

It was posted that State has the 5th worst OL in CFB. Scheme doesn’t matter until that area is fixed
Wasn’t long ago UF had to field an olineman transfer from an Ivy League school just to have a OL so, I feel your pain.

This year is crazy for everyone. He's installing a completely new system without spring (as are many others, most of whom are struggling). I wouldn't make hard judgements from what you see on the field this season.

He will get it turned around. No one can stop the plays in his super secret scheme. I think we should spread the line out a little more too. Get those defensive players out further so our line can block them.

Ehh, lot of football left.
Tough year to be installing a new system with existing players.
Give the guy a chance to at least get some athletes, properly install his system, and adjust to what defenses are doing against him.

You’ve been around awhile, have you ever supported the team you claim?
I hated the Mac hire, but I supported him. Wasn’t crazy about Mullen, but I support him

It took Leach until year three at Texas Tech and year four at Wazzu to get it going. He arguably had more pieces that fit his style when he got to Tech in 2000. But Wazzu was a complete disaster.
But Leach is what he his. An 8-5 coach with a big season every now and then. He didn’t win more than 9 games until year nine at Tech. And year seven at Wazzu. But he will be competitive once he has things in place.

Yes. He will never have to adapt in 2020. The best coaches have never adapted to defenses. Those that do aren't good offensive minds

I don't know the answers to your questions but beating LSU out of the gate has turned out to be kind of an albatross for y'all. Turns out the win was meaningless, LSU is just horrid. All it did was raise expectations prematurely and put MSU on the radar a season or two before any head coach should be judged.

Does this mean Coach O got Croomed again?

I think MSU more than any other team right now would see tremendous improvement with better QB play. They definitely don't have the guy who can consistently put up big numbers that they need to succeed.

Gotta have time to throw. Which, they don’t
Rogers is gonna be good imo, but his WRs have done him no favors. Hes had 2 passes in the EZ that hit them in the hands only for them to let the DB take it away
Heath had a big drop last week that would’ve been on the 2 yard line

There's definitely some room to be concerned if you're MSU. It's a first year install but you'd at least expect some progress. As it stands now, they're doing nothing but regressing each week. This offense is supposed to be one you can run regardless of talent but MSU is so lacking in skill player talent and OL talent that it's absolutely killing them.
Leach's saving grace is that the 1 year transfer rule kicks in in January and he may be able to poach experienced OL from other schools. If he doesn't, well...

True but they’ve played some good defenses. If it’s the same vs Vandy then yeah, be very concerned

Worst situation imaginable for a new HC. Especially one like Leach who runs a system that's totally foreign to the players he inherited.

Give him time to get recruits in and his system fully implemented. Look at what he did at his last two stops.
Don't do this to yourself, man.

You expected to be competitive with Alabama in Leachs first year? This is your disappointment. Mississippi State is going to beat Vanderbilt by double digits
