Not sure he can recruit to MSU at the level he needs to have sustained success in this league.

He currently has a 4 star QB and 2 4 star WRs committed. More is needed but there’s still time this cycle

The one year transfer rule doesn't work for Leach because everyone tells me you have to have 2-3 years in his scheme to become successful.

Maybe we will be better. Typically I'm wrong. I should never have believed in him because I have jinxed us. I'm trying for the reverse jinx now.

You expected to be competitive with Alabama in Leachs first year?

There's not competitive and then there's what MSU was on Saturday. Alabama may as well have been playing an FCS team in the first half. This Alabama defense is much weaker than usual.

In all fairness to Leach you are going to have to give him a couple of years to recruit players for his formations.

Texas high school football has a ton of the OL & QB's that he needs and the SEC is not after them.

He will never be a consistent top performer but he will screw up enough schools in the coming years to cause a pucker reaction everytime they face him.

Patience.

I think it's a legitimate question to ask: which program is in worse shape now, relative to the expectations of its fan base...LSU or Miss. State?

Hard to win big at State, as good as Mullen is -I think he’s upper tier- he was only able to avg 7 wins a season there

You're a moron if you think Moo is so bad they'd get beat by Maine and blown out by both a 2 win Vanderbilt and UAB.

I'll keep posting it since people here seem to think Mullen was winning 10 games a year.

Give leech the pre COVID schedule and a full spring and he'd likely be right in line with Mullen's first year.

His avg class ranking was 26

An average of 7 per year might be the ceiling...that would be the occasional 9-10 win year to balance out the occasional 4-5 win year.

I don't think MSU can average 10 wins a year. But can they have the occasional great year?

Let's not forget...what team was ranked #1 in the very first CFP rankings when they came out in 2014?

His ceiling at MSU is middle of the pack in the SEC West, with an occasional 10-win season.

I'm not sure who you're referring to, but not true.

Everything remains to be seen. Leach has an ego, credibility to protect. We haven't started a servicable qb since Arkansas and that's a huge no no.

and they were ranked that high b/c they beat 3 overrated teams in A&M, LSU, and Auburn who were each in the top 10 at the time but all finished with 5 losses. Miss State finished that year losing 3 of 4. The best team they beat that year was... 8-5 Auburn?

Most of that was Mullen running off the DC before the end of the season.

If you weren’t going to give him time to recruit to his system, why did you even hire him?
