Given LSU’s history of mediocrity (or worse), how could the Saban-Miles years be viewed otherwise?

If anything Bama’s Saban run is more of an anomaly

good grief. Georgia may be #1 in the CFP poll. But Alabama is #1 in the worst posters on the SEC Rant.

I love how now a decade is an anomaly. And decent to good? I would love to hear what you considered Bama during that decade.

I wish posters like you were an anomaly. LSU doesn’t have a history of mediocrity or worse.

as yet to be determined. next 3 years are crucial in that determination.

we need more good coaches at auburn, Georgia, tenn and florida to compete for players with Alabama. Alabama has been getting more than their fair share of top players.

looks like coach Eaux is doing work on that end! I know for sure the DL will be deeper next year. he's working on the OL. and the qb situation.

At least we had the anomaly. Far more than any A&M fan can say. They have been sewer dwellers faience the beginning.

We were fielding multiple top 10 teams per decade in the:

30s
40s
50s
60s
70s
80s

00s
10s

You can't spot the anomaly? He's right, clearly this century.

And yes decent to good decade is 2 national titles with 3 title appearances. Slightly above average

Before Saban ever stepped on campus, we were between 10-15 on almost every all-time list.....

I'd call them better than most, not quite as good as others.

We hired two good coaches in a row. Most teams don't get so lucky. LSU is the only team to win 8 games every year during that run. Also has two national titles.

Think about it, do you expect bama to be this good when Saban leaves? You might be at first but the next coach prob won't win at this rate.

Uh, what?
Wanna know how I know your 30 or younger?

Name one decade outside of that 1999-2009 run where LSU had a good run? I'll wait on never.

LSU is a top 15 program all time. Both the 90s and 00s showed their potential, as any program can be really bad. But lsu can also be very very good.

That's what makes the latest hire such a head scratcher.

Historically yes, but Louisiana has a wealth of recruits and any coach who can bring in the lion's share of those recruits will be competitive.
